- I think that the focus in the course is too much on doing calculations and too little on understanding them. Mostly the course covers physics that I have seen before, but expresses it in a mathematical language that is new to me. Explaining more clearly what the mathematical concepts stand for and drawing parallels to how it is treated in previous courses in quantum mechanics could help. This does not mean that explaining the physics is irrelevant, however, some things were really totally new to me.» (Adequate)

17. What should be changed to next year?- The hand-in problems covered most of the topics of the course and required a substatial amount of time to work out. The extra load of problems for the problem sessions might therefore have been percieved as excess work with less relevance to the final exam.»
- Initially more time should be spend on the Mathematics and confusing notation »
- Writing on the thesis is not nice on the exam. Would be nicer to have it in the standard form where answers and solutions are on separate papers.»

- The homework exercises should be read by somebody (the problem demonstrator perhaps) and corrected.»
- The format for the exam. Having to copy results from loose papers to a fixed space takes quite a bit of energy and time.
Better proofreading for the homework problems would be nice, we lost quite a bit of time sorting through errors.»

- I would like a better text on rotations. Large part of sakurai were very confusing (late part of chapter 3)»
- Go through the Bracket notation more in the beginning. Compare examples in the dirac notation with examples in the usual notation that we are familiar with. Would increase the understanding.»
- Some more OH- lectures does not hurt. As I understand we did not go through all stuff.»
- One needs to spend more time on the perturbation theory,
also variational methods could be included to some extent.»
- If possible, more practical examples of uses of the theory.»

- I have to say that I quite enjoyed the exam. Good problems - difficult, but not overwhelmingly so, just so that you had to think, so that you had to use up all the available time, while still having enough time to treat all the problems.»

- Maybe one should be encouraged to read some introduction the summer before as the speed is high from day one.»

- The course is very large and it provides a student with great deal of tools for dealing with various problems. Maybe one would need more time to spend on it. However, a good thing is that there is Advanced Quantum Mechanics course for those who are interested in it.»
