Genomsnitt: 4.42 - Jag gick inte på Lennarts föreläsningar då jag uppfattade dessa som ytterst opedagogiska och rent av obehagliga på grund av den höga ljudnivån(Hög röstnivå hos Lennart!). Kändes som om föreläsningarna (samt räkneövningarna) som han gav var riktade till de som redan kan medans de egentligen borde varit riktade till att lära ut till de som inte hade lika stor koll.» (50%)

- Exam question number 4 was really outside the scope of the course. It was a purely mathematical question, having very little to do with photonic systems. All other questions were definitely covering important aspects of the course.» (To some extent)

- Eftersom jag inte gått på Lennarts föreläsningar och räkneövningar eftersom de varit så undermåliga så har jag fått förlita mig till stor del på litteraturen. Har i efterhand hört att han gått ifrån denna en hel del vilket jag tycker att han borde dokumenterat på något vis och lagt ut på webben till de som inte varit där.
Föreläsningarna i fotonik-delen har nog inte lärt mig så särskilt mycket heller, har väldigt svårt att ta in information via powerpoint. Fick höra att anledningen var att kursinnehållet var för stort för de få föreläsningstimmarna så att det var tidsbrist som var anledningen. Detta borde kanske kollas över? Antingen sänka mängden information eller öka antalet föreläsningar.» (Some extent)

Genomsnitt: 2.78 - The books werw ok. But since they wouldn"t give us soloutiions to problems and either answers you couldnt study much. Beacuse everyone has different ways of learning and I need to se examples and solutions to get the ideas and the way of thinking. But in this course all this was unnecesary according to the teachers. Due to this i consider that the dont want to help me in my learning process.» (Some extent)
- I do not feel that the photonics book covers the fiber optics part very well. The difference in notation between the book and the lecture slides (which I think had better notation) was a bit confusing sometimes. » (Some extent)

- Är lite fundersam kring den kursutvärdering som skulle ha gjort i halvtid. Står på hemsidan att representanterna har pratat med föreläsarna men jag som elev har aldrig gjort någon utvärdering så vad baserade de det de sa på? Har hört från studiekamrater som gått på Lennarts föreläsningar att inte heller dom sett röken av någon utvärdering så jag har inte missat den på grund av det heller. Tycker det känns ytterst tveksamt. Hade gärna kommit till tals vid den annars!» (Rather well)

Genomsnitt: 3.42 - Varied, mainly because the other course we studied in parallell (intro. to micro and photonics eng) started off really slow and then suddenly increased in pace, which disturbed my studying.» (High)

- More tutorials. The way of thinking in buildning systems should be conveyd not just a lots of system on power points.»
- Jag tycker att två hemuppgifter (en på fotonik och en på mikrovåg) istället för den stora uppgiften på tentan skulle vara att föredra. Känns som om man skulle lära sig mycket mer på det.»
- I would have liked some hand-ins. Instead of, or as a compliment to, the group discussions. For instance one fiber optics and one wireless hand in. Each similar to a major exam problem. Doing the whole task yourself (or maybe 2 and 2) would make sure one has a full knowledge of all parts of the problem. These hand ins could give some bonus points on the exam (my experience is that not especially many bonus points are required as an incentive, students love bonus points...). »

- But since this is chalmers and dont think anything will change. It will be like it always have been beacuse you dont want to do whats best for the students just what is most simple to you. Like it always has been in all courses in this school»
- The focus of the photonics part of the course was 100% on fiber optical systems. Are there no other kind of optical communication systems that could be worth mentioning in this type of course?»
- This course is unreasonably difficult if you miss a class or especially a tutorial. More material should be included on the web, like notes from tutorials and lectures.»

Genomsnitt: 3.31 - The group I belong to didnt want to do the aim. They all wanted to calculate everything by themselves. And in both the microwave and photonic part the intructor ignored the groups. » (No, not at all)
- Inte då vi gjorde den men som tur var så hamnade en av mina studiekamrater i en jätte bra grupp så har nu i efterhand fått höra en väldans massa bra från honom därifrån. (Exempelvis så gick inte Lennart igenom uppgiften så som han hade velat att den skulle ha gjorts på något vettigt sätt.)
Det borde helt enkelt inte bero så mycket på vilken grupp man hamnar i! Mer stöd från föreläsaren samt en bättre genomgång av problemet i efterhand skulle kanske hjälpa.» (No, not at all)
