- The hardest part about the assignments was to get started and to know what to do. Maybe some more explanation would help. Other than that, it was very easy to get the highest grade. The course content is not very easy to understand but maybe an examination at the end of the course would be good for the overall learning process of the students.» (To some extent)

- The teacher took a lot of time for the students and gave good help and explanations. Some of the assignments were not very clear. The exercise sessions were often based on showing the MATLAB code and the its plots. This type of exercise is hard to follow and I guess it is better to calculate on the blackboard and explain all the steps instead of showing a finished code.» (Large extent)

- Unfinished assignments published. A lot of problems with Matlab versions and all toolboxes as well as with Femap. Probably around 5h each week to this. » (Very badly)

- Most of the workload was due to the weekly assignments. Maybe one could reduce the number of assignments a bit and have an examination instead.» (Adequate)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- - great offer of help - good lecture notes - work in the lab»
- The assignments and the lab. The only course where theory and reality is compared in a large extent, it has been a great learning experience. »
- I think the lectures were good. I would keep them as they are.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- - less errors in the assignments - written examination at the end of the course - no presentation of MATLAB code in the exercises, rather hand calculations on blackboard»

- Some assignments need a clearer problem description, and some programs need to be improved. »
- Well, the assignments are very hard to follow. The English is far from clear. The instructions are essentially written in such a way that you have to be the author to understand them correctly. The results have been rather poor as well, especially for the last assignment. The FEMCali toolchain is not of sufficient quality to be used for the course. A mere space or citation mark (which incidentally are accepted at some places in the excel sheet) makes the whole simulation fail. Such software simply has no place in an educational setting. I"ve spent about as much time fiddling with immensly irritating and flat out irrelevant software bugs that has /nothing/ todo with the task at hand. The results do not inspire a lot of confidence either. I wanted to learn about EMA and physics, not obscure beta software. »

- Throughout the course there was a very friendly and helpful atmosphere which made on overall very good impression.»
