- Lars" lectures were a bit boring. Maybe, integration of real life examples and applications would make lectures more interesting.» (Some extent)
- Sometimes the teaching was VERY confused, unprecise and also not explanatory at all in rare cases. Sometimes it also lacked of coherence, not showing the goal to reach or the importance of the result, bringing the lecture to a mere exercise of math or a reading of the slides.» (Some extent)

- The course book is the worst one Ive had since kindergarden.» (Small extent)
- The main textbook is OK for the first part (detection and signal processing) but very bad for SAR. The accompanying material for SAR helped a lot. » (Some extent)

- The book was useful in some cases, but jumping around 500 pages of book to find a solution for a Home Exercise appears quite a nuissance. The slides are sometimes non consistent. The Past exams were not enough. PLEASE EXPLAIN the critical passages in the exam/exercises, the final number doesn"t mean anything unless it"s the one I"ve got too!» (Large extent)
- I used the book a lot but it wasn"t a book I would recommend. There was basically no explanation at all of how the different equations were derived. » (Large extent)
- The book (Sullivan) were good in many aspects, but I found the chapter on signal processing difficult to understand. Where there were no explanation one could find a source reference. I should not be forced to borrow ten more books just to be able to understand the first one.» (Large extent)

- I would prefer to have the Home Exercise handouts a bit earlier and also the past exams in order to be prepared in time instead of rush at the last minute. - I didnt feel that I got anything out of it due to poot explanations a lot of times.» (Rather poor)
- The professor and tutors were always available and ready to help and easy to find. The tutors expecially were very helpfull during the various reports and very fast in answer any quiestion.» (Very good)

- I had to do the lab report on my own because my (poor) team mate didn"t have a clue on what we were doing (and neither did I). You should check the team formation in order to pair people with experience with those who don"t have.» (Rather poorly)

- There are good topics but I didnt get an intuitive feeling for it as is the case for a lot of otjer courses.» (Adequate)
- I think the course is a good course, but needs a bit or a riorganization. The teaching has to be more linear, the home exercises has to be explained and the topic regarding them has to be fully explained at lesson. The goal has to be clarified, and the path to it has to be clearly shown.» (Adequate)
- The time it took for the lab report to be corrected was way too long. Most of us handed it in in the second week but we didnt receive them until the last week. If everything was okey with the report I wouldnt really have cared but to fix errors in the exam week is just annoying.» (Good)
- A very interesting course, which answers many questions about target detection and other signal processing aspects.» (Good)

15. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- The laboratory was interesting and fun. The assignments were very helpful for me to understand parts of the theory.»

- the SAR part even if a bit confusing is interesting, as also the various tipology of radar architecture. also the whole radar equation topic is nice, i think SCR and custom equation has to be better clarify. »

16. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The way of teaching SAR. It was very hard to get a feeling for.»
- The instructions of the two projects should be adjusted. The description of the projects are ambiguous and misleading. They are not difficult, but the difficult part is that I don"t know what exactly I"m asked to do. »
- the part on the signal is confusonary, and also the explanation of the AF and the multipath (formulas from nowhere). More explanation on Home Exercises.»
- the exampleclasses were sometimes very ill-preparded. I think it is a prerequisite that the presenter can solve the problems. It it happens in every example class with one presenter that he can"t one example, that was very bad.»
- The book, swap it out. And give proper solutions in the exams. There seemed to be a lot of mistakes in them (angles were swapped, cos and sine) which could have been prevented if the solutions were more elaborate.»
- All the solutions must be rewritten! It is crucial for us to have good solutions where all steps are motivated and clear. A solution that only states the answer, or where some steps are missing doesn"t help you at all. Remember that it is when you don"t know how to solve something you need to look at the solutions.»

17. Additional comments

- I was expecting more "system design/analysis" and real life systems/applications.SAR seems to be a bit out of course scope. I would prefer to be taught more hardware stuff instead.»
- I think maybe there is too much in too less time, and this results in superficial understanding of the various topic and no time sufficient to be prepared for the exam, expecially on the last part that pretty much consists on 20/50.»
- Hope exercise lecturers do well prepared in exercise classes»
