13. Comments about teaching and course administration

- Very good tutorials»
- Lecturer may have good knowledge on subject but there is no liveliness in the lecture and I personally felt like the lecturer itself not having confidence in the subject.»
- I think that DC/DC project and practical lab can be one project. Maybe that first you are suppose to calculate what different components that has to be used and then you get the board and do the practical thing. In this way you build up a bigger understanding about the lab board and how it works, now you get a bit confused when doing two different things in the same time.»

19. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Dont know but the course is very broad(from the doping of silicone to HVDC-transmission) this makes the course hard to grasp, i think it should be more specific to one area of power electronics.»
- The practical lab project and ali:s approach to the tutorials»
- Tutor»
- Ali.»
- Really good tutorials.»
- Tutorials, labs, project»

20. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- In the lab project there needs to be reserve boards. Our broke and we had to use another groups board. Removing their components only to put them back on when the time was up. A lot of time was wasted on things that just made the project too long, which is a shame because it has a lot of potential. The DC/DC project didn"t feel so essential compared to the rest of the course material.»
- Kind of weird that DC-DC has nothing to do with this course (only PEC), but still i was nice to go through the whole design process. Could be nice to add some computer simulations as well »
- Its better lecturer change his way of teaching else better to handover the subject to some experienced lecturers. More information on how to use datasheet information while selecting components like how to re scale parameter for the rated values in datasheet to required circuit rated values.»
- The lecture slides contained too little information. It was hard to use them when studying.»
- When there is a scheduled practical laboration time the lab should be reserved for the course, that was not the case this time. There were several working places occupied by others during our time. That was really poor in my opinion.»
- Maybe better lectures»

21. Additional comments

- As in q.19»
- This course combined with High Voltage technology gave heavy work load the last half of the period. More of a problem in the High Voltage Course though. But the sooner projects get started the better. »
- Practical lab: Most of the boards are getting really crappy and it is sad that may 40-50% of the time spent had to due with bugs and redo of measurements due to bugs in circuits. I boards are not fixed for next year, it would be nice to get short introduction in beginning of first lab session to point out what should be kept in mind and what components in the circuits could be causing problems (mechenical switchs, variable resistors, tf, mosfet ect)»
