- The earliest assignments took very much time though.» (Yes, the mix is good as it is)

15. Were the first weeks with lectures, tutorial, practical lab and project too tough causing you to fall behind?

- But I feel, if we have done something regarding machine model using S-Function(with Matlab) in Drives 1 course itself, it could have been reduced.» (Yes, it was too much to do)
- It was much to do, but the teacher clearly said that we would fall behind but after some weeks we would be in phase. So it didnt do anything» (Yes, it was too much to do)
- Might be better to have less preration tasks for the first lab, since the lab itself was pretty heavy.» (Yes, it was, but most time was spent on learning Matlab)
- Maybe, a more detailed presentation about how the S-function block works is needed. I spend many hours to understand this, and only when i searched the official matlab guide I understood what I had to do.» (No, it was tough but still OK)

- It"s good to keep less work load when the exam is close, so don"t make lab 6 & 7 more time demanding.» (Yes, then the work load would be more even)
- I think the course has a lot things, and I think the projects are fine. I cannot see how else they can be arranged. Also reduced work in the end allowed us to be better prepaired for the exams.» (No)

- The first assignment with the asymach function caused most problems. It would also be good if there were some graphs to look at to know if you have the right ones or not.» (Yes, but only some of the last projects)
- I think it is better for us to design everything in Matlab. Ok in the last two projects, designing the circuits in the matlab can be out of scope for this course, so I believe no changes are needed.» (No)

- The last assignment wasn´,t as fun and instructive in that way that you got it all served. Still though it was nice to see that the last assignment wasn´,t as heavy as the previous ones. I believe some stuff should be added such that you need to explore some more than the commonly used blocks of Simulink.» (No)

- I believe it was a good way of doing it to let us type the code sometimes, which atleast increased my Matlab skills. But in a few cases the instructions could be a bit clearer, as it was a bit hard for someone who never really worked in the Matlab environment before. » (No)

- I would like to see signal injection technique for low speed sensorless machine controlling. Maybe the converter tasks can be reduced a little and this can be added.»

- Stefan Lundberg, the man with a heart of gold. Have never experienced such a humble and helpful man ever before. He really made me feel that the important thing was actually to learn and not just to do for the sake of doing, and you can really feel that he is profesional and knows what he is talking about. All the time he spends on explaining in detail to ALL groups is incredible. I am extremely grateful for this and Chalmers should do their best to keep him around. »

22. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Stefan should have someone to help him during the computer lab occations.»

- Nothing, but it would be fun to see a simulink control implemented on a real motor. Not just the direct-start/rated operation»
- hmm, its probably a good way of learning to do these projects, but I personally thinks that its to much to do, I need more time to sit alone and think about stuff to let it sink in. The fact that everyone was behind, made at least me just stress everything through to be able to catch up with the assignments. »

23. Additional comments

- Maybe it was unplanned but the lack of tutors during some of the tutorials was not good. I believe it should have been stressful for Stefan but he didn´,t really show anything like that and still gave the students their time (and much extra), very good. To sum up: One of the best courses I´,ve taken regarding teaching and design and I really felt that I had learned a lot in the end of it. This mostly thanks to the teacher, Stefan.»
- I have to say that Stefan did a incredible good job. It seems like he put down a lot time and effort on this course and that has really paid off. Alot of creds!»
- One of the best courses I have taken in all of my studies. I give Stefan all of my respect and gratitude, one of the best teachers I have had.»
