- Motivating lecturers and FINALLY a teacher who has understood that a power point presentation with many pictures is actually more informative than slides with bullet-points.» (Great extent)
- The lectures where very interesting and funny!» (Great extent)

7. How do you value the quality and relevance of the lecture(s) given by...?

Matrisfråga

- The lecture slider where cinfusing and no idea to go back to review since there were only pictures of stuff»
- Have clear agenda and stated learning outcomes in the beginning of the lecture. Sometimes a bit messy/confusing. Too long lectures (3 hours). »
- Björn Sandén is pretty much the star of the show. Most of the lectures are his stories and extrapolations, and had little to do with the exam content. This is not to say he wasn"t wildly entertaining. His ego is large but in my opinion, this quality is mostly backed up by his knowledge. And he knows it. Also, it is so easy to make fun of the United States/George W. Bush, but that country has moved on and the rest of the world who dwell on that presidency should as well. GW Bush examples are mainly used to demonstrate the ultimate backwardness of a nation"s thinking and for the cheap laugh. My opinion is that one should go for the expensive laugh instead, if you are going for a laugh at all.»

- For thr price of the book (Grübler), the extent was far far to small... It was not necessary to buy the book and the book is in my opinion not worth the money. » (Small extent)
- But tooo much» (Large extent)
- Too much reading. » (Great extent)

11. How do you value the quality and relevance of the different books?

Matrisfråga

- Grübler had good information but it was really hard to read. Didn"t he want feedback on the book. Maybe start with dividing it more, space in between and more headlines. There is lots of good information but if you can"t reach the readers it doesn"t matter, right..»
- Grübler: Technology and global change is too expensive.»
- Grubler"s book seems a bit difficult to understand and read within time.»
- Ponting drones on about the same thing over and over. Perhaps a summary of his book could provide the same amount of knowledge. No one remembers all the numbers and events anyhow and it is easy to loose track of his point when he just lists facts with no proper summary at the end of each chapter.»

Summarizing questions about the course

18. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Mid-term, articles, assignments»
- Lectures.»
- The literature and all assignments except C.»
- Contents (diversity) of the course. Home exam: deeper understanding of the concepts. Books.»
- Dynamic lectures, assignment E and B»
- Björn!!! The take home exam was a really good way of learning. You have to go into everything much dealer than if you have a normal one. »
- The assignments and home exam»
- Assignments E, definitely the midterm it made me read and make a lot of notes which was very helpful for the final exam. »
- The debate based on articles read. The first question of the exam, or equivalent.»
- Björn and his kids" rabbits.»
- The home assignment as exam. I think that I learned much more by this compared to having had an exam.»
- Assignments B and C. »

19. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- lectures were boring and i couldnt focus. Ponting was too much and Grubling was intresting but heavy.»
- Too many reading. It is all interesting but we don"t have enough time...»
- Assignment C. Got no feedback and the lecture where we were supposed to be able to discuss the results where more of a lecture performed with very high speed.»
- More assignments and discussion related to the concepts introduced in the articles»
- To high workload in the start (first 3 weeks). That"s generally for the period. Maybe skip Ass B. didn"t give that much and it was very stressful with all that reading AND many assignments in both this and other course. Also, a bit less reading for the midterm so you actually have a change to make it. »
- The assignments»
- No need for midterm. Or give up few assignments and keep the midterm.»
- How teacher give feedback from presentation of assignment E. Must improve giving feedback! Not only negative, to help students to be better presentationsskills, some positive is also preffered. Negative feedback can create a negative feedback loop and in the end don"t want to have presentation at all. So I don"t think the presentation should not be graded with presentationskills to get higher point. Instead what you choose to present. »
- Shape up the lecture slides, they are too noisy. »
- To whomever designs the schedule: Please do not schedule 6 hour lecture days, it really reduces the learning ability. Is the trade-off to fit as many student as possible into the course really worth the negative effects? »
- - Relevance between assignments and lectures and the exam - There is probably a way the exam can be anonymous and it probably isn"t that difficult»

20. Additional comments

- Home exam was terrible. I had so much troble and i got depressed. i had no idea of how detiled the story should be, it was not nice at all, i wouldnt do this course again. »
- Great course! I enjoyed it!!»
- well done. »
- Spend more time on the collection of articles. »
- Overall it has been a very well structured course. Very informative, great job!»
- I think this course is great! It really opens up your eyes for existing problems and you really understand things on another level than before. A lot to read, so for me it was tough to keep up with the reading since I also have other course to study with project which took a lot of time in the end of the period. »
- Good work, inspirational lectures!»
