- The course obviously required a lot of work, since it involves a lot of programming. However, in the last week the workload was extremely high because of the tight deadlines, which in reality, left 2 days for the home exam, even though it was handed out in 5 days before deadline.» (High)
- Especially towards the end.» (High)
- Mainly the examination part, having presentation, report AND home exam. Also the calculated work was 25 hours each week, but the time it take to do the labs was really underestimated.» (Too high)

- More time for the project would have been nice. The home exam felt a bit crammed in and the literature wasn"t that fresh in yer mind. Why not have the home exam in the middle of the period, before the project starts, and then focus solely on the project?» (Good)
- I wanted to learn how to program for android and this course helps a lot.» (Good)
- It is a good course. But please try to have consistency with the lectures times. Chalmers standard is 45 min and then 15 min break. it is 10.15 to 12 or 10 to 11.45. NOT 10-12 (e.g.) » (Good)
- One of the better courses at the IxD Program!» (Excellent)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- The project part, maybe it should be given more time though.»
- not focus in just one plataform»
- Olof. »
- project and exercises»
- The Android / iOS freedom.»
- The opportunity to choose the system to do the project for. The weekly overview on what to do was great.»
- Everything»
- project»
- The project work should be there, perhaps given even more time. The lab work is also helpful.»
- The project»
- the programming part of the course »
- The project where you create an smartphone application.»
- weekly schedules, very helpful!»
- To be able to decide on what platform to develop for»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The means of examination. We get the home exam the 19th, a day that is packed with work from the project course presentations and report. The 20th is packed with mobile presentations and report. Having to sit Saturday 22th December is not appreciated...»
- how is the project graded»
- Put the home exam in the middle of the course instead, when the students have read the papers. It makes no sense to read the papers in the beginning of the course then have 3 weeks only working on a project and then expect the students to remember what they read 3 weeks before. Roughly in the middle of the course there was one week where students were making prototypes. During this week the workload was lower so perhaps one could instead also include the home exam during this and/or the following week. The project deadline can then be moved to where the home exam deadline was. This will also make the workload more even throughout the course. This year the deadline for the project was 2 days before the deadline of the home exam, and since this is a course involving programming in new languages and frameworks, one could expect the students to work a lot with the programming, leaving the writing for later when the presentations/demos are done. »
- workload distribution»
- The exam week workload. Would be great if the home-exam could be done earlier in the course, before the project. To have it during the same time as the project presentations as well as report hand-in made it too much.»
- Have the homeexam before the project starts.»
- I would prefer higher level coding lectures. Not in terms of quality, but dealing with deeper coding choices, following patterns and guidelines etc. A couple of pointers to coding solutions and examples of code that works are welcome. Better quality of lab briefs.»
- the frontal lectures about programming. It would be better do them directly as laboratories, in a way that students can try directly the code explained by the teacher and the teacher can help them if they have troubles.»
- The workload was too high in the end. My suggestion is to have the home exam halfways through the course. Also, this course expect from start that you already have skills in OOP, but that is not one of the prerequisites to enter the Interaction Design programme.»
- have the home exam earlier when we read the course material, instead of having it last, when we want to finish the app, at least do not overlap the deadline of app and start of home exam. »

16. Additional comments

- Fun course!»
- Good course, felt like it was well organized compared to some other courses in the masters.»
- It was a good choice to add some literature to increase the academic gravity of the course. The problem was that it felt a bit disconnected from what we were doing at the time the papers were given. We basically needed the literature for the exam mostly, and I don"t know how useful it is to read it a month or more before that. They must be put in context, perhaps combine a paper with an exercise of those we did every Wednesday.»
