Genomsnitt: 4.81 (bidrar till totalt genomsnitt/jämförelseindex)

- This project has been without doubt the best learning experience during my studies. It challenges engineering skills, cooperation, partner contact etc. during the entire development phase.» (Excellent)
- I have never learnt so much in any course during the same time spent anytime during my Chalmers years. This course is also for real you need to deliver what ever happens, compared to a normal course where you only have an exam.» (Excellent)
- Best course ever. So much learned.» (Excellent)

13. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- We have already sent in a feedback report. I think you should read that one. I believe it will answer more questions than this form.»
- Everything»
- The management group has been very valuable during the beginning of the project.»
- JR»
- The fact that the students them self decide and justify the design of the car is excellent. »
- The professionalism»
- keep it, its a great course! i learned very much!»
- The project»
- Everything!!!»
- The basic concept: CFS approach,Selection process, course organisation, management group (knowledge transfer, process monitoring, coaching), manufacturing. Target definition, overall methodology.»

14. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Read the feedback»
- The attitude of CFS claiming 24/7 from all team members»
- People who are going testing should be "forced" to go home early the night before, it is a matter of safety. The way the grades are determined. Students shouldn"t suffer because the project manager doesn"t know what happens in the project.»
- Due to the fact that everyone put so much effort into the course, 15 Hp are i my opinion net fair.... maybe raise it to 22,5?»
- Improvements can always be made, but will depend on the team vibe. Maybe hire a 50% administrator, so there"s one "CEO" and one "COO"?»
- Nothing!!»
- Work environment and working times more: Working after 21.00 on evenings should be officially discouraged. It is a personal choice, but well balanced mutual effort should help reach the goal in reasonable working hours. »

15. Additional comments

- 15 points for this course is a bit too low I think. 30 points would be more adequate too give even more room for personal development and one can deep dive more into the subjects when one not need to take two courses + formula.»
- CFS12 first scandinavian to win formula student UK! :-)»

The project

16. What is your overall opinion about the Formula Student/SAE project as a learning experience?

- Really interesting and motivating. I"m really glad that I did the project and didn"t leave in the midle»
- A lot of work but many things learned. You get back what you put in to the project.»
- This project is an amazing opportunity to use theoretical skills in developing something practical, while learning from fellow students and papers. From this project you learn so much more than just engineering, you will learn a lot about yourself and team team spirit.»
- Can not be compared with anything else. Best applied learning available on Chalmers.»
- In terms of learning, it is the best course/project I"ve participated in at Chalmers.»
- In formula one learns things that is not possible to learn in normal courses. -How to really take a project in this dimension from start to finish. -More real work experience is not possible to get before leaving school. -Everything learnt during the year is extremely valuable when leaving school and start to work in any company, because the student have allready seen similar project and now how it can work. -Right now Chalmers Formula Student produces world class engineers and have a very high level in the engineering learning knowledge. One can see that CFS is a top team in the world largest engineering competition, (1st and 3rd overall in the hardest competitions). I have seen that this gives an extreme advantage for the CFS engineer on the labor market compared to those who not have the CFS experience.»
- oustanding experience»
- Very good! you apply the stuff you learnd during your studies.»
- The best learning experience you can get from Chalmers.»
- It freakin" rocks. Beyond anything else you can ever do as a student.»
- You learn much much more than you can ever learn over one year in class!»
- Probably the greatest, most rewarding and best project experiences you can get as a future professional engineer.»
- The best educational enterprise i know of so far, which provides students a chance to experience product development from a very versatile perspective.»
- It is a very good learning experience regardless which program you study.»

17. How did you experience the formation of the team and the sub-groups?

- Okay, not great. If I could form the subgroup now I would have atleast replsced one person.»
- Good. You must learn to work with everyone.»
- Sub-groups is a very good idea!»
- Generally lack of team spirit during many periods with high work load.»
- It worked well.»
- I think the layup is the best possible.»
- clear recruitment process, seemed well managed»
- in the beginning not every one knew each other but later on the whole group acted as a team/family! of course there was a small down period, students were tired and so on but i think it is hard to overcome/mange the down period....»
- The selection of students could be better. In order to get those that are really interested and ready to spend the required time which is needed.»
- Shaky but that"s part of the fun»
- In CFS12 I was informed of the team formation and which subgroup i belonged to. Other than this experience I do not have. I was completely satisfied with my position on the team.»
- The structure is good although there can always be some small changes. There should be more leadership within the team. Someone that is sort of leader for each subgroup.»

18. Has the team-building exercises been useful?

There were only a few of these so please indicate if you would have liked more (or less).

- More would have been nice»
- More of them in the early phase of the project.»
- The team-building should be improved and the team could have more activities in the beginning of the project, for the students to get to know each other.»
- Yes but they where to few»
- Some sort of team-building exercises are good, but theatrical kindergarden games are not the way to go.»
- All were valuable but could need more small informal team building activities.»
- Yes, at the point they were conducted.»
- good with training from anita, how to act/talk to partner (at elmia) maybe more "group" activites in the beginning (team formationn), going gokarting/climbing, questionary competitions.....»
- Yes, the few that we had. Should be more focus on these.»
- Yes, but I think there could have been more. Also, the feedback implemented for this year is a very good improvement»
- More exercises would be useful as otherwise people group off into their own groups and not as a complete team.»
- Yes, it helped everyone learn their mates" names.»
- They were good, there should have been a few more.»

19. To what extent have you reached the project goals YOU aimed at?

- Very well»
- I reached my goad with a well working system, but now afterwards I find areas of improvement and I hope CFS13 evaluate my ideas and develop an even better solution.»
- I did reach them»
- I feel that I"ve reached my personal goals and delivered what I was expected to deliver.»
- My goal was to learn as much as possible in all different stages and I have reached my goal. I know that I am one of the best in the world in what I have been doing, that is more than what my goal was.»
- Full»
- To some extend. I had a goal during summer which was not fulfilled.»
- Above and beyond as I have no idea what I got myself into»
- To a very great extent»
- 850.5p / 800p = 106%»
- The goals of winning and scoring 800 points were reached. On a personal level some things didnt play out exactly as planned or as I would have wanted it to do mostly due to issue within the team with handling situations and team spirit.»

20. Any other comments about the project, its content and the work process?

- The best project at Chalmers that provides much more mature engineers than the normal courses since the work is more like in real life.»
- Keep on delivering the engineers of tomorrow, keep the project running.»

Reports/Examination

21. What are your comments about the current report format?

Should it be a single report or 5 separate (one for each phase). Please comment about time spent on writng the reports.

- It"s really hard to take the reports seriously at all and I wouldn"t accept that my grade was majorly based on those stupid reports. I spent minimum possible time with those reports»
- It"s a good format as it is now. »
- I think it worked well during CFS12, because then you write parts of the report while the knowledge is fresh.»
- No optimal, can b more focus on what the students want to get out from the project. As in e.g. describing the outcome of knowledge/experience in a way that it can be used when applying for jobs.»
- Five separate ones that in the end form a single one is good. »
- Good»
- single. Time spent: well, rather long since I wanted to produce a report that I could show at job interviews in the future. »
- due to the fact 5 single ones are a bad idee! it is already so much to do, so my opinion is that it is better with a big one in the end!»
- The new format is great. As long as each student can do some changes to it.»
- For me the main focus of the report was the CFS13 team. I did not really consider it as part of the examination. But then again, this course is not about the grades.»
- The current report format seems good. The detail level depends on the interest you have to write the report. This point could be worked upon.»
- I find the final report completely unnecessary. The quality of work delivered over the entire year, the numerous presentations and documents created for the competition and during the different project stages and the peer review are completely sufficient to serve as bases for the final evaluation. »
- There should have been five separate I think. The total report time was approximately 6 full days (12 hours/day)»

22. What do you think about the peer review process?

Comment on the number of reviews, the ability to get feedback and act upon it.

- Quite uncomfortable way to grade the students. But necessary I think since the examinater impossibly could track everything that happens. I don"t feel I got any feedback out of it»
- It is very good but it would be good to know what the other guys in the team thought about me. »
- First of all its very difficult to evaluate your team mates. I think that after the project, you can reflect of everyone"s ability to improve.»
- Good»
- I don"t see the point in having peer reviews if the student can"t take part in the outcome. They should not be the ground for the grades if the students are not able to react to any possible criticism. There is also no point in having a peer review half way through the project if the project manager doesn"t read it until November the next year. »
- Needed, and good. More feedback during the year direct to other teammates were needed.»
- In CFS12 we assessed our teammates but we didn"t get feedback on how people were seeing us. That would have been a great thing to do.»
- good»
- I think that its good for you to get a feeling of the group dynamics. I don"t think that I got something out from it.»
- A number gives little feedback. Plus we never saw the reviews?»
- Its a good process but people might give low ratings to some people as they actually don"t know the good work they do»
- Adequate.»
- It was a good thing and the number fo them was good. Didn"t see any feedback of the peer review itself but the team-spirit questions. The act upon them was good, it must be brought up by the team itself and solved from there.»

23. Was the feedback received on the reports sufficient?

- Did we get feedback? I don"t even remember that. So I would say no.»
- Not really. Haven"t seen any report feedback»
- No»
- There were no feedback. I don"t think Jonnie actually reads them. »
- Yes»
- The feedback on the report is non existant.»
- I haven"t received any feedback on my report yet. »
- I don"t think I ever received any feedback on it.»
- Yes!»
- Yes.»
- Yes»

Work space

24. What is your opinion about computer availability?

Considering that we do not have any allocated time slots.

- For CFD it was really bad»
- At times it was really difficult to find a computer. But during summer and winter breaks, it was ok :)»
- There were many times hard to find an available computers, specially during the design phase during regular school hours. Some specific CFS computers would be nice.»
- Good»
- The availability is usually good, especially during evenings and summer (quite obviously). »
- Good since there are not many other students in school during the most crucial parts when computers are needed. Like end of design after exams before Christmas or during the summer after the last exams.»
- good, but during Xmas time.»
- its ok. sure a roam with computers only for formula student would have been perfect»
- sometimes pore. could be improved.»
- n/a»
- There are a few rooms around the campus with 4-5 computers that can be booked. It would be good to have these rooms booked always to CFS during the design phase.»
- Since most of the work on the project was done on evenings and weekends this was not a problem.»
- It works although computer availability in the mechanical building is too poor.»

25. Were the softwares utilized and provided for the project course appropriate?

- Yes»
- Yes. »
- Catia is fine to work with until its time to assemble every part on the car. I hope there is a better way to assemble parts with constraints to other parts, instead of using coordinates.»
- Good»
- Yes. But whether or not the students are fully capable of using the correctly is another question. But that is a part of the learning.»
- Yes. All software that was needed during the process was provided and introduced.»
- yes. »
- yes»
- To some extend.»
- n/a»
- Yes»
- Yes.»
- Yes it was good.»

26. Was the workshop availability sufficient?

Also comment on the education in the use of machines.

- Yes. I liked it but I think that this year the workshop lectures are even better. »
- Yes, but I hoped to get my workshop license earlier. The staff in the workshop is easy to work with and their experience is highly valuable. One thing that they could teach the students is how to produce several parts in an effective way, with manual machines.»
- Yes»
- Yes, but the possibility to manufacture carbon fibre parts at school would make things a whole lot easier. »
- Yes. Workshop teachers were extremely nice and helping during the whole year.»
- Sometimes some more was needed, but sometimes the workshop was empty.»
- yes»
- Absolutely, but I don"t think that its okay to work during nights which has happen some times. In that case its better to work from 8 in the morning.»
- great help and support from Janne & Reine, and from XP»
- Getting a license required you to know the machines very well which is a good thing! It should be continued. That apart the workshop was mostly available when we needed it.»
- Yes. The most awesome workshop education on the planet. Janne rocks.»
- The availability of the workshop and the education was both sufficient.»

27. Is the size and accessibility of the course lab/race bay sufficient?

- Yes,»
- Yes»
- Yes»
- Yes.»
- Yes it is perfect and have the best possible location close to the workshop. Moving it would be extremely stupid.»
- it was.»
- courselab work shop - good racebay, way to small! should be that big that the whole team could be in it an work there (assemble car etc...)»
- Yes, I cant complain about that. Would be good to have someone that can handle the crane. »
- yup»
- The race bay could be bigger so we could work inside it and not leave the course lab in a huge mess.»
- The size of the race bay is hilarious. The cell in my basement, where I keep my old sofa is almost as big. Accessibility is good.»
- The size of the course lab is sufficient. The race bay is quite small but given the storage room it is definitely enough.»

28. How good (or bad) was the access to study areas for non-technical work?

- Good.»
- The access of computers could be better during 8-15. The two small meeting rooms in the course lab is great to use for reading, but a couple of laptops would be nice to have.»
- Bad, the race bay is a losy place for non-technical work»
- Sufficient»
- good»
- Not good, but that is general for the whole M building.»
- Two group rooms in the race bay was sufficient night time. But daytime it was usually occupied and the race bay is often far too cold to be in. An office for non-tech work would be nice. Especially something that"d be ours more permanently so one could keep papers and work there, kinda like the "TC" office in the meeting rooms over the summer.»
- Good.»
- It was okay.»
