- I understood what was taught in the class and in lab sessions. It definitely gives guidance but it requires lot of self study as well. One more thing which I felt is that in this course some ion trapping techniques and things other than superconductivity may be included.» (The goals give some guidance, but could be clearer)

- Doing the lab and especially reading the thesis about this lab made some stuff a lot more clear. Also some basics where explained a lot better in the thesis than in the lecture notes.» (large extent)

- I would have prefered a course book that had more detailed explanations and deriavations. There were many things I strugled with that only was described briefly and then left as an exersise for the reader to solve. » (Some extent)
- I had the feeling that a lot of times some information was missing in the course literature (some more physical interpretation of formulas etc.) And since it"s a pretty recent field, it"s not always easy to find extra information online.» (Some extent)

- Some of the hand-ins in the beginning took very long time.» (Adequate)
- I feel like I spent every week almost from Monday to Friday to figure out the hand-in that was due that week. In the end it is really helpful we made them but the lectures (and lecture notes) were almost never informative enough to be able to make the hand-ins.» (Too high)

- State-of-the-art research field, it deals with some topics that are being worked on intensely in few departments at Chalmers at this point.» (Good)

17. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Maybe it is the Swedish way of teaching, but the lectures don"t offer almost any additional information from what is written in the notes. Maybe slightly bigger focus on the algorithms would be better.»

- More information in the lecture notes. More physical interpretations in the notes. Updated lecture notes before the lecture is given.»
- Professors try to explain main ideas when teaching. Unfortunately, their explanations are not always completely mathematically described. This is not a fundamental physics course, but there should be complete mathematical derivation at least in the notes (starting from the basic formula and deriving the desired one - obvious steps could be skipped, of course, but all the "necessary" ones should be pointed out - mathematics is sometimes not straight forward). Also, the physical meaning of the formulas in the notes, although mentioned in class, is often not written in the notes. Then, the lectures are almost the same as the lecture notes (not many more things said in class than one can find in the notes). Either the notes or the lectures should be changed. When it comes to home assignments and lab report, I don"t see the point in tasks that are purely technical. E.g. plotting graphs from given data - for these tasks, only Matlab or some other software package knowledge is necessary. Another example are some formulas that need to be proven (mostly mathematical problems) but not much help is given in the lecture or lecture notes, so those problems usually come down to lengthy search of online books or solved exercises where the exact problem is actually solved - a bit of waste of time, in my opinion. »
- The content of per lecture was too condensed. In a four hour class, its hard to follow anything even if you have some background.»
- The lecture notes should be more clear. I mean it"s based on mathematics, but if it"s possible to include some physical explanation along with mathematics, I think it"ll be better.»
