- Given the nature and content of this course, the examination form does not assess whether we have reached the goals. The examination is all about (to 90%) learning by heart and trying to apply knowledge on imaginary examples which I believe is very far from how this area is applied in reality. Anyone can learn methods by heart but that does not stimulate the deep understanding of the subject. I would STRONGLY recommend another form of examination on this course next year. I believe a home exam would be ideal in this case, or perhaps another project or extended versions of the ones that already exist. Furthermore, I believe that you cannot assess a project based on a presentation. A what you write i a report and present in a presentation are two completely different things. If not write a report, maybe we should hand in an appendix with assumption, data, calculations etc to make the presentations more interesting.» (To some extent)

- The question on exergy was ridiculous. There was no teaching to talk of and the question was on something not covered at all, and there was no prerequisite exergy course!!» (To some extent)

My opinion is that it is relevant to know what is said in the articles, but not to know what a specific author says in a specific article (if it"s not a great breakthrough in the field). - What is not covered in the assignements is not really tested since the cource is best examined in the assignements, according to me. Is is a course about tools and tools are best teached by using them practically.» (To some extent)

- It was helpful for my learning. However 95% of the time was spent on finding data. I am aware of that is the reality of an MFA but it is not that developing. But if that was an objective to illustrate that fact it was good. I would have learned more if I could have focused more on the procedure and evaluation with data provided.» (Some extent)

- It was a nice way to get to know Technology Assessment, but it wasn"t exactly rocket science. I mean, I think I would structure any kind of prospective assessment in a similar kind of way intuitively. However, the goals of this assignment were a lot clearer, so that work could be done more effectively.» (Some extent)
- Good assignements but I would prefer if there would be a report that is handed in instead of only presentation. 1. A report is according to me not only a way of presenting info but also a way of working with info and structure it for students. IT felt as if it became almost a bit "messy in my head" with only a presentation. Students often look at different parts and I think it is easier for everyone to have good insight and knowledge in all parts if the info is collected and merged in one report. 2. Should become easier and more fair to judge 40 h work * 3 students on a report together with a presentation anmd not on a presentation. Then students can be as ambitious as the pleace and still be able to present it all in a report and not be haveing to remove parts or rush through parts on a 20 minutes presentation. » (Large extent)

- Ulrika should be a bit more relaxed and try to speak more freely, if lectures really are necessary.» (Small extent)
- Even though I had the idea I understood everything pretty well during the lectures, I noticed that I really learned about all tools and frameworks while reading the articles and taking the time for it. A problem might be that the powerpoint slides are too full of text. More interactive lectures (during which the students are required to give their input) would definitively also help.» (Some extent)

- He is unprepared, unable of explaining the purpose of the subject, unable to answer questions. I actually feel ashamed in front of the exchange students because of Steen. Chalmers should be better than this! He must practice his English!» (Small extent)

- None actually. I am not fund of harsh comments but I do not consider Sten appropriate for teaching anything. His english knowledge is not nearly acceptable (pity the foreign students) and he is not "pedagogisk" at all. On top of this, he is lasy as in not prepared for lectures, not to mention the calculation exercises when he stands by the board, writing off solutions that he has not looked on since last year, if not longer ago. He even has the nerve to ask students of the class if it is correct since he has not done the type of calculations in a really long time. I do not consider it to be fair that exergy can lower our exam resutl, since if students manage it at all it is all due to early knowledge and not at all due to lectures and new knowledge from AIE. sorry for the harsh words but it is frustrating. » (Small extent)

- Very good content, has big potential! There should be more of discussions and assignments and less of the ordinary lectures (we can read about the concepts ourselves). And there shouldn"t be any exam but a project. This would test our possibilities to apply better than an exam. Another alternative is that performed assignments give a pass, and to get a better grade you write an exam. It would be better to have more and smaller assignments, so we can try all the methods. Maybe we don"t have to look for data in all of these, but at least try it in one. » (Adequate)

Och om ni inte tar bort exergin så kan inte Sten ha den nästa år. Det är under all kritik, både språkmässigt, innehållsmässigt och pedagogikmässigt. Känns pinsamt särkilt inför utbytesstudenterna att chalmers inte håller okej kvalitet på undervisningen. Eller så får sten bli sjukt mkt bättre. detta upplever jag som en allmän uppfattning i klassen»

- The part about exergy, was not so well connected to the course. If the exergy should be included i think that there at least should be an exercise as was intended. »
- I am really glad to have learned about these different tools(MFA, TA, MCA, LCA, Indicators etc ...), however my opinion is that a written examination is not a good examination form for this course. This is the type of subject where you learn-by-doing. To learn by heart the enumerated list of how an MFA is done or an indicator created does not feel really insightful. As an improvement, I would sugest, maybe to have four smaller presentations, perhaps that on top of the MFA and TA, also an MCA and Indicator study could be done. Instead of having each project presentation during 20minutes, perhaps 10 would suffice. Gradings could be based on the presentations and groups could be set randomly for each of the four projects.
