- just by stating goals, it doesnt change the meaning of the learning outcome. Proper text books should be prescribed first. Exam should not be based on the slides only. - it is a little bit unfair that the 10 min. long test at the start of lab1 is 10% from the final grade. it should be less or at least better communicated.» (To some extent)

- It was just slides and speaking without any extra explanation on the board in order to make it understandable.I thinks it is very necessary in engineering. » (Small extent)

- It would be nice if you could use the PPT as an tool instead of puting every thing there. If you could write some on the blackboard and summeries it on the slides, I think, it would be better. And also put some effort and do your own slides:)» (Large extent)

- course litteratur was just slides which was very poor, therefore if you miss a lecture, you can not go through the slides because you can not get anything in other words there may be many other points but hold sufficient explanation up» (Small extent)

- Lots of projects and laboratorys in another course, too.» (High)

- In my opinion the course is slightly deviating from the Aim of course. The course should mainly involve ,detailed description on choosing a perfect machine for the application based on its characteristics as per "learning outcome" mentioned in course page, but it has deal with more on dimensioning a machine( last two lectures). Like the course should have topic on how to choose a drive for steel mill, paper mill, cement factory , Robots etc, based on its environment of operation and application. Again, it is just my opinion.» (Adequate)

- More stress should be given to control engineering subjects, and only thn introduce the drives and machine parts. high level should be maintained.Please try to introduce matlab sessions for students who are not knowing it. In my case it was difficult because i was dependent on others for it.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- This course is a great example of why powerpoint lectures suck. They just stuff the lecture slides with so much unnecessary information that its ridiculous. And its impossible to see what to remember from the lectures that is important.. really worthless slides and boring lectures. »
- a clearer description, of how a current control and speed control works. Do not increase the amount of detail. Increase the understandability.»

- Instead of lecture 1,5,15 & 16, other lectures could have been taken for more sessions to get a feeling that we are mastering on the subjects. Applications of machine, should not be in single slide of a lecture, it should be dealt in detail. »

- johan some times were to fast in some lectures. Even he told us in many occasions: If you can not understand you will get it later by yourself it is not so complicate!! I think he should not assum that everybody know well about something. Lectures are extreamelly important.»
- Lab works originated from old lecture materials. New references and lecture materials introduced but introduction to lab is not completely introduced before the lab.»
- Maybe the minus point at the mid exam. And more time on the lab-exam. The most stressful test jet at Chalmers.»
- STUDENTS SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF WHAT WILL BE COVERED IN THE TEST THAT IS CONDUCTED BEFORE LAB 2 IN A CLEAR AND CONCISE MANNER. THAT IS THEY SHOULD BE TOLD THAT THE TEST COVERS WHAT IS DONE IN LAB 1, THE SAFETY ASPECT AS WELL AS QUESTIONS REGARDING PREPARATION FOR LAB 2 (QUESTIONS ABOUT LAB2). »

- E.g. there is a question on the slide and lecturer try to explain it with words, think if somebody may need more time to understand, if he or she write it down without just listening which there is more risk to forget , he can go through everything once more and try to understand....»
- At the end I fell so good with this course.»
- It wasn"t good to have the exams this period the days after each other.»
- The exam was more difficult than the last years and not tutorial orientated as before....»
- It"s very important that Chalmers educate the lecturers. Although a lot of knolledge there are obvius lack in pedagogic skills. Isn"t there any program to helping lecturers and tutors to be excellent in their teaching.»
- I would say the course was well presented by the lecturer who was always available to help»

- This question as such has no meaning, excuse me for being blunt but we do have some very good professors, so stress should be given more on what they teach, different teachers taking the saem subject is of little or no consequence to the learning outcome. But advancement in knowledge should always be the prime goal of the teachers. » (?)
