6. What do you think about the content and scope of the course? Do you think that any sections could be removed or do you have any suggestions about sections that could be added?

- lectures should be improved!!! Less people in one project group!! Need longer project supervision time for each of the groups! Evaluation criteria of project reports and presentations should be clearly stated and firmly followed!!»
- The openLCA could be done better: no lecture, but more like an exercise. »

- Some of the guest lectures were useful, espessially the on from SKF which was a big joke. I did not learn anything, he only talked about SKF.»
- I am really disapointed about the project grade. During the first two feedbacks it sounded as if the work was really good but durin the last feedback the grade was lower than what we expected. I have heard from many groups that they were chocked about the grade. It seemed like the communication was not good between the supervisors and the students. Because most often you can judge appromimately which grade you will get. But to expect a 4/5 and then get a return is really strange I think and then something is not okey. It is strange and seems like the first two reviews were not done correctly if you tell the students that everything is good and that they should strive for a higher grade and then give them a return and grade 3.»
- I would like to learn more about LCA today, and not how it started in the 90s and before. What are the difficulties, weaknesses, strengths with LCA? What alternatives are there? Is it possible to make an LCA trustworthy at all?»

- The lectures felt that they were quite close to the book. I would have liked them to compliment each other, now the lectures felt like a short variant of the chapters in the books.» (Small extent)

- Think that a lot of the lecture note haven"t been to any help at all when I was looking at the powerpoint before the exam. They are just stuff taken from the book and are tables and numbers.» (Small extent)
- The time I spent in the lectures was mainly wasted time. The content of almost all lectures was just copied and pasted from the "LCA bible" and the actual teacher did not put a lot of effort in developing their own contents, structures and ways of teaching. Finally, the descriptions in the book were much better than in the lectures as in some lectures the teachers couldn"t even really explain figures copied from the book.» (Small extent)

9. Did you find the lectures and exercises well-structured and easy to follow?

- There was no structucal problem during the lectures as everything was just copied according to the content list.»

10. Were the smaller exercises in the course instructive?

- the exercises themselves are good. The the problem is the lecturers sometimes fail to give feedback on them!! Then what can we learn from these exercises if we don"t know right or wrong?? »

- Didn"t see any point of doing the computer excercise. Would have been enought to mention that you can use software and that can look like this ... etc»

11. The project

- My project just contained two accounting LCAs and no recycling. I would have liked to have a somewhat more complicated process to learn more.»
- Feed-back definitely NOT enough!! Less people in one group!!!!»
- 5 students is just too much as the task is difficult to divide in seperate parts due to the interrelatedness. So some people lost the overview and in the end it was only 2 students knowing the whole picture. »
- We had christin liptow as supervisor, and honestly i can say no good about her in that position. It felt like she didn"t really have a good view of what to do and how, it was really hard for her to answer what we should do to proceed. And most angry am i of how she handled our last hand-in, the final report. We had one parameter that wasn"t correct that affected the whole results. And because of that she wanted us to find the mistake and rewrite practically everything with start from the results. I find this really bizarre. We have made a perfectly fine results, discussion etc. based on the results we got, so i cannot find it really necessary that we have to do ALL of this once again, afterwards, when we have understood what shall be done and why (since this is a course and not in real life!). This only takes alot of important time from us. I"m really pissed out about this, i find it sooo bizarre! Let us give you the new results and be happy for god"s sake!»
- Too many in one project and there should be an individual assessment form to fill in that is anonymus, because it worked well between 3 of 4 in the group. It was also difficult to divide the work between 4, 3 better. The support of the supervisor was not good according to me, it was impossible to be finish in time during the meetings and this was a lot because of the supervisor and we did not even got all of our questions answered. We had to ask about one thing 4 times and still we did not get it right in the final report, then there is something that has to be investigated. It also took 1 month to answer an e-mail and the other two were not even answered. The time it took to do the calculations was more than necessary, we did not learn more because we had to do more calculations»
- Too many people in the group. But it was good that the group was created by the teachers»
- The excercises was very time consuming. The hand-in was enough, the feed-back was on other hand nonexistent. It was to much to be four people, maybe three would have been better.»
- The question for extra time in addition to the sceduled hours feels like a joke. Doing an LCA study in this time span with the main work pressed into three weeks (after the goal and scope definition hand-ins) definitely needs more time. But I think that students expected it to be like this so that this it not to critisize. I found it unfair that there were groups with four members as this reduced the personal work load much.»
- I felt there could have been more feedback from the supervisor. During the sessions the supervisor said everything looed good with our report but the grade for was a three and I think the resport was better than that. The supervisor pointed only to minor things which should not lower the grade so much. I don"t think the supervisor had even read the report before the feedback sessions which is not acceptable!»
- I think it"s preposterous that each group had THREE feedback sessions and almost all of the groups got corrections to do after the final hand-in. It seems to me like the project supervisors do a really poor job at giving feedback if almost all groups fail in such ways that corrections are needed. It shouldn"t take 17 feedback sessions to get it good enough to at least pass as a 3. Also there should be a lot better guidelines for what you are supposed to do for all of the hand-ins. And there should be more workload before hand-in 2, so less groups fall into the trap of doing 90% of the work in the last week.»
- I think corrections after final submission would have been avoided if the supervisors had told the groups what exactly they needed for each hand-in and what was required to pass.»
- The project was almost too big, and it was hard to get a grip of the whole report. I should have been good if we could see an realy good example of an LCA report, so we could know at what level we should put our effort. It was hard to understand what the supervisors was expecting from us. »
- We could not get enough feedback of each hand-in from supervisor. All of our project mates did well.»
- 4 people is too much. 2 people, max 3 would be good. Now we had one who worked too much, and one who hardly worked att all. I spent all my time on this project and the other course I took, so I did"t had time to go to the lectures.»
- Of course...We are mature enough to choose our own teams (according to our common background) . Is so annoying to work with bachelor students or some other backgrounds that have no idea about the subject and you have to do all the work by yourself. »
- Very big work to do, hard to find time to srudy for exam»
- Misunderstanding in the communication with the superviser that gave positive comments until the end, to finally judge the report insufficient. This communication could get better.»

- By reading the book and looking at old exams, there was no problems doing the exam, even if I hadn"t been to the lectures. It would, however been nice with some complementary reading from other sources.» (Great extent)

- The Handout page is missing in any kind of structure. Some kind of sorting would be nice (perhaps after lecture numbers or dates)» (Very badly)
- It was a bit messy. Would have been better to have a map for each thing, one fore lecture, one for project, one for all exams etc it would have been easier to find what you were looking for without scroll through the whole list.» (Rather badly)
- It was hard to find the lectures afterwards, since they didn"t have a number. Next year: just number them in order, that will be much easier for people to follow.» (Rather badly)

- I heard there was some discussion concerning old exams. But as the final exam was different from the ones before it seems like a solution could be found...» (Rather well)

- It contained everything needed for the exam but sometimes the important content is difficult to grasp as the writing style sometimes remind me on a novel.» (Good)
- Is an ok book, but it would have been enough with better slides for the lectures and the book would not be needed. Which will save the students a lot of money.» (Ok)
- They don"t go into as much detail about certain things as I would have liked. But overall it gives you a good idea about the course content.» (Ok)

- When asking the examinator it went well and it was fairly ok to the office of the supervisor, but the questions were not really answered. The supervisor did not answer an e-mail in one month and the other two were not even answered!» (Very poor)

- It didn"t work very well to be that many people in a group. And it was also obvious from the start that not all people were equally ambitious about the project. Some people never seemed to be able to meet up and work on the project so especially in the beginning just 1 or 2 people did all of the work. If the project is gonna work better then there needs to be more groups with less people in it. Also, the additional task (the dominance analysis) for the groups who were five people didn"t seem quite fair. The one extra person did not make the project go faster than if you were four people. So it was just an extra work load for everyone» (Very poorly)

- The project and confusion around what you were supposed to do before all of the hand-ins and the fact that almost everyone got corrections are some serious drawbacks to me. But the lectures overall was quite good I think. Especially Maria"s.» (Poor)

- I think the lectures are good as they are. Most of the exercises were good also, except for one in particular in the beginning of the course about functional units.»

22. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The lectures could be less dependent on the book.»
- Lectures should be improved ( not simply copy everything from the text book) project need to be improved!! »
- Smaller project groups (2-3 persons). Let people chose their own groups, so people are on the same level. Give more experienced students the possibility to form their own groups and use a software tool during the project. What the course really needs are more inspiring and enthusiastic lectures. »
- Assistants!(some that know about the field) Smaller groups. And by the way the computer exercise we did was really crappy, i cannot find a good reason for spending 2 hours there. If someone in the future wants us to work with that they will have to teach us everything again anyway, because in two hours like that you cannot learn anything!»
- The size of the project and how it is graded. If the whole class gets a return then there is something that is clearly wrong. Also if only one got the grade 5! Remove the questions that has to be answered. The way of working of the supervisors. »
- More influence of the projekt grade to the end grade.»
- I would incite the teachers to develop their own lectures and not just to copy and past from the book and then read it out loud in front of the class.»
- The projects! Smaller groups and a LOT clearer message about what to do before all of the hand-ins and what to include to avoid having to do corrections after the exams.»
- The supervisors should give good constructive criticism and state what should be included.»
- Maybe you can have more intensive lectures the first weeks, and then more time for projectwork. »
- The number of people in each group should be 3~4. 5 is too much. The time for the supervision was not enough. We wanted to have more feedbacks.»

- Consulting time should be increased. And i think the guidance from supervisors in project can be made much more helpful. »
- The grading: Is annoying to do a good job on the project and get a 5 on the exam and still get a 4 just because you got a 4 in the project. The feedback we got on the reasons to get a 4 were ALL things that the examiner failed to see and I pointed them out on the report...eventhough ALL of the observation were there , we didn"t got the 5 .... For some mystical reason. »

- less time of the project spent on correcting excel calculations,(depends on the tasks and how the projects are conducted) more time to evaluate results.»
