- Pingpong was overcrowded with posts, difficult to a find any specific post. » (Rather well)
- Since we were the first to undertake this MP3 project, there were some hiccups along the way. However, this should be sorted out for next year. For instance, playback length is an issue that we only noticed last minute. » (Very well)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- The choice of digital or analogue. Report writing. 24 hour lab access.»
- The project management.»
- The way the reports were structured: I liked that we got a lot of feedback on the half-time report.»
- The course as it is... pretty much.»
- - The course as such - Support from other teachers ans PhD students - The cooperation between teams»
- Group meetings with supervisor. »
- Good design challenge. You can pass the course having done only minor changes in the design, or the task could become really challenging if you wish it to. »
- Writing lectures.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The department should be 24 hours otherwise the lab being 24 hours is pointless to some extent. To get everyone to use certain features in order for all to learn. It seemed that we were the only group to use Git for file storage/backup, which is used in industry, whereas other students used Latex for report writing, which is used mainly in academia. If the department feels that it is worthwhile for students to learn Latex, then provide some classes or material to use it, or try to introduce earlier on in the year in another course. The specifications need to be made more clear as this was always a source of confusion and arguments.»
- To build a full Class-D amplifier and make a layout for fabrication is too much for one course. Maybe split it up so one group does the modulation and one group does the bridge and low-pass filter.»
- The project was a little bit too big. This made us feel like we failed because there wasn"t enough time. Could be clearer that it is hard to do everything...»
- The mid-term report may be postponed just before the Easter, rather than at the beginning of march.»
- I think that we should get more help getting started, for example by explaining some mp3 theory and the mpg123 software. It took a long time to get started and we focused on the wrong things in the beginning. Also, it would have been good if all tools (like simulators) were ready in the beginning of the period, so we know early what tools we have access to.»
- The Lips model sucks... it is incomplete in so many ways. Cut down on the progress report and project reflections maybe?»
- - Maybe point out clearer if you notice delays and give more guidance in terms of projecty managment - Have a cadence expert available »
- There should be some meetings slots with technical supervisor as well. LIPS model should be modified for such small projects as there is too much documentation envolved. New projects should be introduced, specially which includes both analog and digital elements. Task distribution among group members should also be monitored and included in grading.»
- Less focus on report writing and administration. More focus on technical issues»
- Linux server wastes much time. some time a compilation takes 1/2 day! »

16. Additional comments

- Overall, a very good course for a Masters student or an exchange student. Would definitely recommend as you learn more from project work than exams.»
- If logbooks, protocols, change of team leader is a demand at the beginning: keep it that way. »
- It is fortunate our team includes students from different majors, but for other teams, more tutorial are needed.»
- I think that all members of the staff have been very helpful/patient during the project. Thank you all.»
- It feels strange to be examined by Sven whom we did not have anything to do with at all besides that he attended our presentations. I"d rather have Lena be the examiner.»
- I feel there was too much focus on report writing and too little on the technical part of the project. For example, we had 15 or so meetings with Lena regarding reports, administration, team work. We only had one meeting with Sven and Bavishya regarding the progress on the technical side. I do recognize the importance of learning how to work in a project. But we are firstly supposed to be engineers, and we are supposed to learn how to deal with technical problems and to do good designing. I suggest a little more balance between administrative and technical training. In particular, the competition aspect of the project could be pushed further. This is not the Swedish way, but a little competition makes us better engineers. In the end, only the best product will be bought by the customer. Documentation is important, but it is nothing without a good product»
