- Regarding the lectures, I think Jian Yag had very good lectures where he actualy wanted to teach us something. I think Per-Simon focused way to much on his own work, for instance he talked more then a whole lecture about how good his company is. Also the tutorial with Ahmed where rather strange when he thought we didnt know all his question just because we didnt want to answer, so he ended up talking about stuff we aldreay knew. And the "book" needs to be changed... Or redone, it lacks complete argumentation and is full of print errors» (Rather well)
- Don"t start every lecture and tutorial with the course goals. » (Rather well)
- More examples could have been given in the lectures. Sometimes hard to see the connection between lectures and exercise classes. More overlap is needed to get a deeper understanding.» (Rather well)
- + to Yian Yang. Great teacher. » (Very well)
- Errata for the course material should be placed in the portal.» (Very well)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Home assignments»
- Jian Yang, Study visit»
- The learning goals»
- Labs, Home assignments»
- Asarafs tutorials were quite good! »
- Jian Yang»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The style of the exams. »
- Almost everything, especially the examn which was outrageously bad, i mean come on 7 far field fucntions by heart! I want to learn something useful not just study thing by heart, thought chalmers where more modern then this...... So change the book, Kildals motivations (seems like he have the course as ego boost)and redo the examn exam.»
- The focus is wrong. The math is very complicated to describe a far-field function. This should be in a formula sheet, not something to remember by heart. Do we even need to know the far field function? Isn"t the graph of the far field function enough? Focus more on sizes, patterns, general design rules, different types of tapering to the antennas etc. I think the course skips "the way to think as an engineer" and focuses to much on the math behind the antennas.»
- Tutorials - the way of TA"s explanation should be changed: They are writing each and every word on the board. This could be done better. Instead of writing, we can have more discussion about the problem on board and place the complete answers in the student portal later. This makes more interesting.»
- Continuity in lectures and tutorials. There are too many teachers and tutors. The tutors need guidance how too perform a good and helpful tutorial. The focus of the course should be to understand the physics of antennas not to remember numbers and stuff you can easily find in some book. The physical understanding is missing after the course. »
- just too much introduction in the beginning of the course and in the end a rush through the material. »
- 1.) The labs should be better executed. The program (mainly for the beam patterns) should be overlooked and run before to check that everything is running. The lab instructors should be more devoted and not be so much absent. 2.) As mentioned before, more overlap (between lectures and exercises) and more examples in the lectures. 3.) It is unnecessary to have a exercise class and a lecture about S-parameters. But it is of course hard to solve since wireless-people and comm-people have different background. Still, I think (too) much time was wasted on this. »

16. Additional comments

- Personally i think it"s very hard to memorize different farfield functions in the exam. I think the first part should be more theory and the second part be only math with the book ofcourse. Because farfield function are pretty complex function and in the exam, it were like 8 farfield functions that we had to know. I think the first part was more like memorizing stuff than understanding. Second part of the exam were pretty good with some complex mathematics. I liked that. Please improvements of the exam.»
- Heard some about the course before picking it and so I had No expectations and still you manage to disapoint me. Hopefully you wont just censor me for telling the thruth.»
- Excellent Professors and TAs for this course. Lot of people involved in this particular course. Their involvement for this course is very high. A Big thanks to Professors and TAs.»
- The course is lacking the final touch to be good. They have tried to fix it for many years, but still there is a lot of problems which need a thorough review and can"t be fixed just by the course evaluation! »
- it was sometimes exhausting to understand and listen to the tutors because of the presented english»
- The workloads of the home assignments were rather unevenly distributed. HA2 took A LOT of time if all of the derivations were made from the beginning. With that said, I don"t know really if it is a problem.»
