- I think the exam was a little bit mean, because you could calculate the different part but it would be good to practice that at lectures as well if it is going to be at the exam.» (To some extent)

- I found it hard to find the right information from the course literature. As there was no good book for the area we had links to different websites. Sometimes the links lead to a page with a lot of different links with names that confused me more than helped me, as I didn"t know where I was supposed to find the information I was looking for. When that occurred I mainly used google or wikipedia to find information. » (Small extent)
- Sometimes material that have been described in lectures is not available in the literature... That means that 100% attendance on the lectures is required to see all material.» (Large extent)
- Most of the theory I got from the lecturer during lectures, but when doing exercises on my own and studying for the exam I checked out the links provided in the course PM. Most of the ones i checked was good, but somehow all these years of academia have given me an aversion to wikipedia links:) » (Large extent)

- I think there are room for improvements here. I experienced it as the course assistant and the examiner didn"t always have the same information. And that the course assistant know as little as we did about some things. For example did I ask the course assistant about the report that we were about to write about the last assignment. It wasn"t long time until we should handle it in and he couldn"t give us the answer. I think that the communication between the examiner and the course assistant should be better, so that the course assistant is aware of things concerning the assignments etc, that he might get questions about. I also think that some information was not as good as it should be, e.g. the information about the report for assignment 5, it would have been good if it was mentioned in the assignment and not only in the course PM. » (Rather well)
- I know I"m only nit-picking here but it would be nice if you included the lecture title in the document title instead of just "L1". :)» (Very well)

- The assignments were pretty easy, except for the last one. The leap between assignment 1-4 to assignment 5 was experienced as being to great. » (Low)

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Sync the assignments a bit better to the lectures. This means a bit less time for finding a solution for some assignments, but could be compensated with a bit of assistance for the final assignment, i.e. the maze-solving part. For instance, introduce the control design part in the lectures and in the same week or the next, give opportunity to implement this in the lab. We solved the assignment (line follower9) without a controller one week prior to the due-date, but our solution would have worked better if we have had used a controller. We did not know about any control design when that assignment solution was approved.»
- Some more material to read, and something that explain how to do the exercises that was given. Because al was not gone through under the lectures. »

- All of the assignments except the last one were to easy while the last one was way to complex to do in such a short time. Maybe a lecture/discussion seminar would be beneficial when it comes down to how to map the maze and make the robot follow that map back again. I think a debriefing in plenum would almost certainly lift the learning outcome of the LEGO assignments (only after the last). It should be possible to get assignments approved before the set date of approval. Now, we had to wait to get it approved which haltered further development of the robot.»

- Better communication between the course assistant and the examiner. It would also be good if the examiner and the course assistant solved exercises in the same way, as it sometimes was hard to follow. I prefer the way the examiner did it as it was well structured and easy to follow. I do also think that it should be "special" exercises for the exercises lectures, or at least that the example that is gone through is more detailed instead of solving a lot of exercises half-through. For me it would have been easier to understand if the exercised was done more detailed preferably than do as many as possible. »
- If possible, less theory about dynamics, and more info about practical stuff such as sensors.»
- The last assignment. Maybe some more exercises on the motor, how to pick the right one. We just had an example during class.»

16. Additional comments

- A very nice course that applied some engineering topics that for me have just been a separate course. »
- Very good exam. »
- Don"t be afraid to make the course more challenging mathematically. I would also like to see more exercises covering the design process from A to B. Maybe a mandatory exercise/assignment on modelling, making a controller, trajectory, selecting motor, etc. for a simple case. »
- Overall I did like the course very much as it was easy to follow and felt "hands-on". I do also like the combination with the robots. »
- I liked this course, because it applied the previous knowledge and it was always possible to ask questions if we had to.»
