14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- 1-Both Home assignments should definitely be kept. »
- large signal transistor model extraction»
- 1. Labs was great. 2. Home assignment 1, a very good way to get a feeling of the topic. 3. The very good lectures and tutorials 4. Possibility to run ADS from home 5. Study visit was very intesting, good thing it was compulsary (or I wouldnt attend due to work load of home assignment 2). »
- The laboratory and the study visit to saab.»
- exercises and lectures were really well-structured. tutorials always with summary of lecture content and well explained examples.home assignments comprehensive but helpful concerning the improvements of ads skills»
- The teacher and the tutorial leader. Extremely good combo!»
- Dan and David has made good efforts! David"s totorial have often clarified what was still unclear after the lecturs! Precicly like it should be! Continu like that!»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- 1-In the Second Home Assignment, either make it individual or Put an Oral examination to judge who has actually done the work because in my opinion only 1 person in the group worked and the other one just enjoyed. In the end both will get equal points anyway. It should be changed to Oral exmination so that it can be fairly judged who has done how much work in assignment. 2- Lecture slides should be made less so that they can be coverd at good pace in the class rather than rushing through them as it happend during few lectures. »
- 1. Home assignment 2 was too hard, the learning vs time put in was very low. Bad idea to use group work, it didnt work at all. Many students just leached and didnt care about the assignment. Very unfair. The second home assignment took far too much time, study for the examine suffered greatly. 2. Too little time was spent on mixers, both lecure and tutorial. No recommended problems on the topic at all. 3. The course book. A descent copy of Gonzales was not possible to get hold of. (Very poor quality, feel a apart) »
- Better material on mixers and oscillators.»
- measurement lab should be improved, squeezing of a DC power supply led to gain increase of 5dB ?»
- The second home assignment took too much time from the rest of the course. »
- The measurement setup for the lab. The DC-supplies for the biasing network were a bit disappointing. If you put your hands on it (grounded yourself or something like that) you had 5 dB higher gain on your amplifier. Otherwise it was a nice laboration!»
- The home assignment, might been to big! The are really rellevnt for the course but it might not be reasonable to take that much time! I think the workload of them might have ben underestimated when Vincent wrote them... In the view of how much work home assignment has been, it might not be neccesary to write a report before the lab. Of course students should prepare for the lab, but a report is overkill!»
- The second home assignment concerning computer simulation of a HEMT was not very well thought through. If the purpose of the assignment was for the students to learn how to read completely incomrehensible, ill-written scientific literature (the paper on the angelov model), the task succeeded.»
- The seconf home assignment. Better instructions for ADS is necessary and the fourth reference paper was nearly impossible to read and understand.»

16. Additional comments

- Few exam problems were on a different level than the ones we have solved in tutorials. Even the older exams were much easier compared to the exam we took.»
- The home assignment 2 should be 1 week earlier in the course.»
- study visit at saab was to appreciate.»
- Best course, not kidding!»
