- The course-PM was a month late, final lab-descriptions uploaded during or after the lab. Lecturenotes never avilable before the lectures and so on.» (Very badly)
- The administration has been rather poor. Eg. it has not been clear how the laborations are related to the final grade. The information on what was allowed on the final exam was specified just a few days before the exam. The form of the final exam was not explained. At least not on the course page. What we actually should do (in order of laborations, hand ins, exam etc) was not specified until pretty late in the course. Overall the information has been rather bad.» (Rather badly)
- The labs weren"t well prepared. It was impossible to do them in the lab-time and you have to spend several hours more to finish it. Besides, it is not a good idea to do them at the end of the period, because we have had several weeks with nothing to do and in the last two weeks we have had to do three labs. It wasn"t well distributed at all.» (Rather well)
- Laboratories didn"t fit in the stipulated time because there were a lot of work to do but really few time to do it in the laboratory. In addition, the exam was excessively long, including too many questions. In those cases, the course administration wasn"t as good as it should be but in the rest of the course, there was a good one.» (Rather well)
- The organization of lab sessions and instructions could have been better. » (Rather well)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- The guestlectures were very intresting.»
- It a really fun course, but the administration need to improve. The laborations were really interesting, and the guest lecturers as well. »
- Project group work»
- The labs and the project were really good and should be kept.»
- Project, lab content (maybe made shorter in terms of time it takes), guestlectures»
- The guest lectures. They give you a different point of view far away from the theory. I consider important to see the applications of the course in the real world.»
- The guest lectures should be preserved because they are very interesting.»
- Labs, but with separate sessions on instruction»
- the labs»
- The labs»
- The labs and the project were really good.»
- the project»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The exam can be made alot better. The exam also cover abit too much of the course, some of the topics had already benn covered in the lab qustions. There was too many questions about the different applications. Some of the questions required very long answers for just 1 or two 2 point, this is very time consuming considering that it was a 100p exam. »
- The exam was to big, this course has very much content so everything can"t be on the exam, since the time is limited. The questions were to specific and it was hard to know what to expect of the exam since the structure was changed.»
- It would be good to be able to start on the laborations before the lab-time, so that you would have some idea on what you should do and what"s difficult and you need help with. They could just be posted on the web page a week beforehand and students could be encuraged to start with them before the lab-time. It was really too little time on the laboration time with Arthur and he was talking far too much. A short (short!!) walkthrough would bee good, but after that it would be nice if the students could work and just ask questions when they need help instead. And not need to listen and work at the same time, all the time. The final exam was far too long. Too many questions on too short time. I wrote all the time as fast as I could (as many as I had time to, if there had been more time I could have written far more). If I get a full score on all the questions I wrote on I will still just get around 60 points... The limits are too high. The questions are too many and too extensive. »
- reducing program or examination method»
- The exam was too extensive, there was not enough time to answer all the questions. A home exam would have been preferable, or maybe just the labs and a larger project.»
- The exam. It was extremely long and it was asked the entire course. In my case, I didn"t stop writing in the 4 hours and I couldn"t finish the exam. From my point of view, you cannot ask everything in an exam. Besides, the questions are very general, and you had to explain everything because the question wasn"t clear enough. Finally, I consider this exam much more difficult then the previous ones, and I think that if you change the kind of exam so drastically, you shouldn"t set such a difficult one.»
- The laboratory time and the exam. In my opinion, I"ve learned more doing the laboratory exercises than studying for the exam. For this reason, I think that there should be more laboratories and no written exam. The written exam could be changed for a home exam (including the most specific content of the course) and a small oral examination (including only the main important features). The exam was too long and you can forget things that you know when you are writing during 4 hours so many pages. Besides, all the information that you need to know is in the books, so it is not so useful to memorize all the contents of the course. I think it is more important to understand and to know how to explain them but not in the stressful atmosphere of an exam.»
- Exam was quite descriptive and lengthy, can be changed»
- the extent and deadlines of the labs, to much work for to little time»
- The project is unecessary, given the labs. And consider the time limit at the test when combining the two teachers" questions. »
- Less work load ,Less laboratory sessions ,a student is supposed to finish a laboratory in the session ,if not the lab assistant should arrange some time to help students, what happened was the lab assistant doesn"t even have office in Chalmers. The exam doesn"t match the standard at which the course was given,If you are to bring such a difficult exam I suppose you must be confident that you have worked such a good job teaching the course.»
- The exam.. It was way too big for the time we had. A home exam had been much better, if it"s similiar questions. The labs should also be started earlier, now it was very stressful with both the labs in this course, and the ones in Image Analysis.»
- if the final exam can be open, it will be better»

16. Additional comments

- The project and the labs were very good. Good and and interesting course overall. The exam can be improved abit. »
- The subject is interesting, but it was hard to know what to do during the course.»
- It"s been a really fun course, but the examination was a bonkers. To big. It would be nice to have some sort of guidance on what to include in the hand in report. Soo the students know how much time and effort to put into it. And what"s evaluated. »
- There was a huge difference between old exams and the one that we did. We were tested much more deeply in every subject of the course. 4 hours were not enough to write all the informations required or thinking for good complete answers. Many of us not even checked for errors at last. If i have to suggest modifications, i would reduce the subjects and focus on a smaller amount of those. I noticed that to learn as much as possible in every of those subjects to get a good score i feel that i lack important informations in the main methods.»
- The course was generally good except that the time estimations were wrong most of the time. A lab that should have taken 2 hours actually took many times that amount of time, and there was not enough time to finish the exam in the 4 hour time window. The course material was really good, and both the lectures and guest lectures were interesting and relevant, the only real problem was the time. This could be solved by either decreasing the workload or find other solutions, like for example a 24-hour home exam instead of a 4 hour classroom exam.»
- The content of the course has been quite interesting as itself, but the bad workload organisation (three labs in the last two weeks) and the difficulty of the exam make it not so good as I expected.»
- Definitely, the course has been very interesting and I have learned a lot of things but I think that it is a better way to do it with only few changes.»
- The test was too time consuming. Most of the questions I didn"t have time to even read them. It contained all the problems(from previous tests) plus the new type of questions by Andrew.»
- The laboratory should be re-thinked. The workload for the lab was too much since we had to do two labs on the same day. The final exam was way too long and there was no time to finish it and no context was between the questions and the points. Compared to the exam last years this exam was unfair. »
- »
- The final written exam was really so long and need more than 4 hours. hope that you can rearrange it on the next time..»
