- It was very good that the hours were distrubed through the whole course.» (Adequate)
- Very much to read, so to combined with a other course with high workload will take its toll.» (High)
- It was a lot to read, good with the midterm then, but hard when you couldn"t buy the book at cremona, to many articles it made it stressful.» (High)
- But due to that this was my first non-electric course. » (High)
- Massive amounts of litterature/text to read. I am not used to this type of studying.» (High)

Summarizing questions about the course

27. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Assignments, Guest lectures»
- The assignments, the lectures and the good athmosphere in the class»
- Assignment E»
- Guest lectures, optional assigments, presentations.»
- the midterm exam, the articles and the related discussion»
- Humor Assigments are nice to do»
- I think the course has reached its dominant design - and I like it!»
- The midterm, guest lecturers »
- The overall course structure and the gust lectures. »
- I liked that very concrete topics were included, as the movie about the electric car and the lecture about Minesto. I also liked the form of the home exam very much - even though it was very hard.»
- The home exam»
- midtermexam»
- The assignments and the home exam, they are interesting and relevant.»
- Articles, content of lectures.»
- The discussions!»
- All the assignments, the midterm exam and the home exam.»
- Most things I guess, overall a good course!»
- everything except (see below)»
- ponting book»
- Björn.»
- Layout was good, Björn was good.»

28. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Less groups in one room when presenting Assignment E»
- revise the reading content a bit, narrow it down.»
- Assignment B»
- Grübler text book was interesting to read but in some parts it comes to verify the things written in the articles. Avoiding to buy thi (sorry to say but it is very expensive) book will be thankful.»
- HA1 classroom is too big. it is not a good place for interaction between lecturer and students.»
- more interaction and feedback opportunities (if the teacher ask me a question, I can realize if I have understood or not).»
- little bit less articles to read, or at least more help to read them...»
- Maybe a politician could attend a lecture - just to hear an other stakholders opinion or feedback.»
- maybe a little less reading workload if possible»
- The midterm exam. I felt that it was unfair since you needed to remember exact details of a specific authors opinion or theory which meant that even if you had read the texts and understood the principles you might get the wrong answer. On the other hand, if you hadn"t studied the text in detail, you would still get approximately 3 points just by guessing. I received three points on the exam, and those points where definitively not well deserved. This does not encourage students to begin their reading from the beginning of the course.»
- Maybe give some more assistance on assignment C»
- The midterm exam and the two expensive books should be dropped. Instead, I believe that those 10 points should be attributed to assignments. It"s much easier and more interesting to invest him/herself in a work than in long readings.»
- Maybe assignment C.»
- I didn"t like the midterm, it feels a bit lika a lottery...»
- Maybe reduce the number of articles somewhat.»
- Clearer deadlines online, was a little confusing with some differences in times for deadlines online and on the schedule.»
- Less litteratur and clearer goals »
- the amount of material to be read»
- less reading material»
- The recommended reading was massive in the first weeks. I think it would be better to mix the reading a bit during the course.»
- Even though history is important, it seemed to me that it was a bit overestimated in the course. Would rather like to see an angle on modern takes on solving environmental problems (modern technical change).»

29. Additional comments

- Over all very pleased with the coarse. Top three of the master coarses I have read.»
- Discussion / assigment of some articles?»
- it would be better to have some reading guidance on the course literature. for example, listing several key questions for each of the articles that deserve more attention to when reading them.»
- Supress the dark background fro the printed slides.»
- Merry Christmas!»
- More people should get to know this great MTS-alternative.»
- Good course overall, liked the historical aspects. Felt like I have a better understanding of long-term technical changes. Would recommend the course to others.»
- The written exam was not a good way of testing skills, i heard of one guy who did not know a single question and randomly guessed him self to 6 bonus points and another guy who only got 2 bonus points by guessing. So it"s a lottery both if you know the answers and if you don"t and I don"t think lotteries belong in the exam purposes!»
- The main problem for this course was that I already had Sustainable Development and Sustainable Energy Future courses. Hence, I didn"t really learn anything new in this course... For what it"s worth, my overall impression would be much more optimistic if it was the first course in the "energy and resources history" field I had.»
- An interesting course. Do not regret reading it.»
- Very fun to do a home exam for once: it required a completely new way of working and it was a fun challenge.»
- It is very hard to remember who is who and what the differernt assignments was about when just a name or letter is given. If you give the theme the lecture and a summary of the assignment in the question it will be easier to answer them.»
