- I could and would have wanted to put in more time but the other two courses took so much time so I didn"t have any time to put in» (At most 15 hours/week)

- I think that it wouldn"t hurt to say that you base the exam on the lectures and the articles so that people don"t read the book and fail because of that. This could actually be mentioned in the beginning of the course so the students don"t have to by the book from the start, since it is unneccesary.» (The goals give some guidance, but could be clearer)

- Depends on how you see it. I think there is a focus om quantity instead of quality so I think the qualitative goals are set too low but the quantitative too high.» (No, the goals are set too low)

- I was not fond of this type of exam. I was a bit dissapointed. Maybe it is becouse of my expectation but I relley expected a higer level of a master course at Chalmers. I do not see the point in beeing able to repeat specific points of a concept. Why was the exam not focused more on the students understanding rather than short term memory. » (No, not at all)

- Too much questions of the type 4 things he sad, 3 things she wrote about. This typ of questions does not test the understanding it only test if you have learned things by heart. » (To some extent)

- For the reading of the Martin Christopher book: maybe do as in the Purchasing course :"read these chapters for the course number n" in order to guide us all along the reading period. Otherwise, we don"t take time to read it because we have too many things to do!» (Small extent)

- Chalmers all webpages sucks. It should be better to have all at the same homepage instead of having ping pong student portal and the others pages.» (Very badly)

Course structure and content

10. How do you perceive the following parts of the course? Please give some brief comments if you rank any part as less than good.

- The sc-game lost its purpose to some extent for us who made it before. host company felt like double work during the whole reading period..»
- The exam - One question that I didn"t expected to be part of the important key points : ROI. - About the article: maybe don"t say "Person" but "talk about this concept .." in order to remind us which article you are talking about.»
- The host company seminar could be consolidated with the seminar in the purchasing course.»
- I think the host company report needs to be incooperated into the one of the courses again. The way it is now, this is just a pain in the ass to get over with. Even if you can learn a great deal from the term paper, since it´,s a pass/fail course you just don´,t give enough focus on it. The host company experience is really good though.»
- The seminars I found were the best time spent in the entire course. This is how you learn and understan. But I think is a shame that some students did not participate in the disscusion. Could there be some type of pass/fail grading that requre students to participate?»
- the seminars should be led by a teacher that can force everyone to be active and participate in the exercises. »

- it was good but the joint planning between the courses has been horrible and has really forced us to do the minimum work in some exercises. better communication between the teachers so tasks don"t colash. This is mainly due to that Benedikte"s course has been one of the worst courses I"ve ever taken during my university studies. She has made it so hard to do well in the other two courses. » (High)
- The course it self did not have to much workload but it got a lot when we had to do the term and seminar course as well parallel to this one » (High)
- Mostly in a scens of many small things to do all the time. That goes for the entire reading period. My suggestion is that, if you have completed all mandatory hand-ins, cases and seminars that you get your pass grade of 3 and then the exam is for the upper grades, 4 and 5. Like in the Lean course. That would take so much pressure of the students and emphasis more that the compulsary tasks are of vital importance.» (High)

- Maybe it was a bit too general, get rid of the term paper course and spend more time on SCM topics.» (Good)
- The fact that the course had lectures, guest lectures, seminars, case competetion and the host company case was excellent to deal with different supply chain management perspectives and to enrich our knowledge. It gave us a broad and very deep view about supply chains and their management details.» (Good)
- good but the combination which the term paper course has been very bad and ould be done much better. Benedikte once again has rescheduled allot and made it hard for us to plan» (Good)

- I think that the guest lectures and the seminars should definitely be preserved because it is a very good way to undrestand the subject and to deeply think about it. The Case Competition was also a major way of applying the concepts in a real case. It enabled to see from a different perspective the management of supply chains.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Need to adapt and co-ordinate the workload of all of the three courses together so that everything is not at the same time and also might have been a little to much workload. For example co-ordinate the host company assignment so you dont have to do the same/similar things in all three courses.»
- The overlap with the term paper and seminars course. It resulted in too much work and the coordination between the courses were rather poor »
- I think there should be less deadlines which are almost overlaping.»

- Schedule. Some seminars and hand in dates were overlapping with another courses. Schedule should be more aligned with other courses. Also number of assignments- great effort was more on quantity- to hand in all the assignments rather than on quality + making them well.»

- It is hard to have three courses. Take away the term paper course. Term paper sjould give points to exam so you feel that you have something to work for. When it is just pass/fail you don"t put a lot of effort into it. It is good to visit a company but maybe it could be done in a way that is included in the SCM and Purchasing courses.»

- Everyone should talk during the seminars. It shouldn"t be structured in any other way, but the teacher should lead the seminars and demand everyone to talk. Otherwise some students might not read the articles before the seminars because they know they will pass the seminar just by sitting there. However this is only bad for themselves as they instead have to read all the articles before the exam instead!»

- I can"t complain about any thing in this course although some more connection to the course literature could be done. But most of all something has to be done with the term paper course HORRIBLE!!!»

- The way the exam work. Pass the students if they have managed all the compulsory tasks and make the exam an upper grade exam instead.»
- Not separating the courses. The term paper and seminar course was NOT good. And there were a bit too many lectures on the same topic in the purchasing and scm. Hence it got a bit repetitive sometimes. Both SCM and Purchasing are great courses, but either separate them further or merge them back into being one course of 15hp.»
- Planning and cooperation with the other courses. A lot of duplication of work. »
- Remove seminars»
- The host company parts, the workload was great without the host company seminars. The many different seminars and deadlines made the overall quality low and it have been frustrating to not have the time to make the different report as good as I wanted. »
- Get rid of separate Host Company seminar. It is better to have a bigger final host company presentation in the end of the term. Then you feel that it is worth to put effort in to them.»
- The host company part could definitely be changed to be included only in the SCM course and not be in a separate course.»

- More integration between SCM, Purchasing and Termpapers and seminars when it comes to Host company. We have held almost the same presentation many times.»

16. Additional comments

- Overall, I feel great for this period though sometimes, it is a little busy. »
- Too short period of time to manage all the work but the course was interesting»
- Often I found it hard to separate the different courses, especially scm and term paper and seminars. For example I still not know what course that arranged the case competition. The total work load was something I never experienced this far during my 3 years on Chalmers. Every week felt like the exam week except for the exam week which was even worse.. »
- - The course on outsourcing by Anna Fredriksson was not very useful since we already did everything with Arni. - Maybe integrate environmental dimension?»

- The exam questions were mostly based in the lectures,papers and the articles, which is very good. However, an additional question about the Host Company case could be included in the exam.»
- The seminars that we couldn"t attend to should be followed up some other way. Once the exam is over the course should finish (given that you haven"t failed in anything). Now we had to hand in an extended version of what we wrote anyway before the seminar, and this doesn"t feel very intelligent to answer the same questions twice. My suggestion is to follow up the seminars missed already the following week just to make sure there are no loose ends once the exam is over and we"ve started the next period..»

- The host company parts is the one that takes the most time but brings the smallest parts of understanding to the course. »
