- You"re even changing the STRUCTURE of the homepage after the course has started. Not good at all. Also, you put the same piece of information on up to 4 places. Of course, this means that you forget to update them all, and people miss stuff. Dont complicate it. (Making it complicated: http://www.cse.chalmers.se/edu/course/TIN092/2011coursemodel.png) Also, when"s the last time you updated the "Full schedule" (http://www.cse.chalmers.se/edu/course/TIN092/info.html#schedule)? Did you ever? It"s referenced at the very top of the front page, and the two schedules haven"t ever looked the same, as far as I known.» (Very badly)
- Every single handout were late as far as I know. But twitter was a nice addition.» (Rather badly)

- Emil was available by email and always friendly and helpful, strangely Roberts email werent handed out, even on the course web page.» (Rather good)
- both Robert and Emil were very open to questions and to talk after lectures.» (Very good)
- Just something that I notice and it might be useful to share. There were times in this and other courses when Swedish students would ask the professors questions about the lecture in Swedish.Sometimes the professor talked back in Swedish also and because the master have a lot of international students it would help to try and avoid it by maybe having all professors to talk in English even if they are addressed in Swedish(?).» (Very good)
- As above, the twitter-page was really great» (Very good)
- I always felt the opportunity for help was quite present, and got fast and good answers when I needed it. » (Very good)

- Some of my group members have not contributed much to the total group effort» (Rather poorly)
- Mixed, some did not work that much and some were great to work with.» (Rather poorly)
- I needed to direct people in my group a little bit, as otherwise the things were going too slow. I saw no self initiative of some group members, but I managed to not make the bad atmosphere inside the group (by just working more for others).» (Rather well)
- Some social clashings but otherwise it worked out well» (Rather well)
- There was a lot of cooperation in this course, so naturally we spanned the whole specter from poor to well, some uneven workload because of different backgrounds and some arguing because of strong personalities and stubbornness, but all in all it worked quite well.» (Rather well)
- Really fun to work with people from other cultures. The students of Master Software Engineering Year 1 are much more nice to work with than the ones from the second year.» (Very well)

11. How was the course workload?

- Adequate if you are lucky enough to have good team members.» (Adequate)
- Probably pretty adequate if you don"t have to do most of the project by yourself.» (Adequate)
- High bordering on too high, mostly because the other course demanded a lot. Would be better to separate them?» (High)
- It was alot of work the last weeks with the SRS.» (High)
- Adequate/high, actually quite high but we did learn a lot from it and it was relevant, so still adequate!» (High)
- I like that Robert is demanding but I didn"t feel I got to learn everything properly.» (Too high)
- The Volere Template is very big and shouldn"t be expected from us to write or mention every chapter of it. It wouldn"t work like that in real life anyway.» (Too high)

- Acknowledging this comes from the 3 courses i took» (High)
- Too high in the first 2 weeks, otherwise reasonable» (High)
- :(» (Too high)
- For me it was too high, as I had Project Management course which has very high work load, plus I"m an international student who has to keep many things in mind as a newcomer to Sweden.» (Too high)
- in conjunction with Project Management course.» (Too high)
- I had project management which was really incentive.» (Too high)
- Two curses with high workload.» (Too high)
- The other course I took make the workload too high.» (Too high)
- PM at the same time, really heavy course» (Too high)
- The other course I had (Software engineering using formal methods) is also full of personal and group assignments so it was difficult to schedule team meetings. In the end we did well as a team, but we wouldn"t have managed without Google Docs" online editing.» (Too high)
- Because of the other course that had a lot of unnecessary work.» (Too high)

Summarizing questions

13. What is your general impression of the course?

53 svarande

Poor»0 0%
Fair»2 3%
Adequate»6 11%
Good»31 58%
Excellent»14 26%

Genomsnitt: 4.07

- I didn"t feelt that it was very useful. Maybe because the we had too much total load this period so I didn"t have time to really learn something instead of just passing the course.» (Fair)
- I expected more things.I am not sure though if there is something more that we have not been told or if Requirements Engineering as a subject has little more to offer(mostly cause from the first lesson we were told that it is a messy field) » (Adequate)
- Emil - Great help, and great lectures, but you might want to easy up on the jokes for the first couple of lectures. Only a little though. All in all, keep up the good work.» (Adequate)
- It"s a good course but the subject can be boring sometimes» (Adequate)
- I needed more feedback to the assignments. We did much practical exercise before the exams, but I did not feel ready because I had no idea if I had made mistakes on my assignments, what was good and what needed to be improved.» (Adequate)
- Very good course but, as all the courses regarding this subject, is lacking real-life examples for the terms and practices we are being taught.» (Good)
- Better than good, lacks something undefined to be excellent..» (Good)
- I love the professional attitude of Robert. I never saw anyone recording the lectures. It is very useful. Also, Emil has a great personality and makes the course more entertaining.» (Excellent)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Robert»
- Teachers»
- -All»
- Guest lectures, recordings, twitter account.»
- video recording workshops reviews guest lecture»
- video recording, workshop on interviewing stakeholders (quite refreshing), good work environment, cool teachers, twitter.»
- Assignment like the group one.»
- Robert as teacher. Demanding but you appreciate it afterwards. He has a future. Keep Emil as course assistant. Funny guy but would like to involve him more with the students.»
- The early assignments and the group work»
- uploading of slides and vidoes. and also information on twitter should be preserved.»
- Assignment 2 was good. I think it"s good to evaluate the work of fellow students as one learn more about what one missed in one"s own work.»
- Emil! :D»
- most of them»
- The recorded lectures. Should be like this in all lectures on Chalmers.»
- The workshops were really good experience.»
- Course is fine.»
- Everything to be preserve!»
- keep it up»
- Emil and Robert are great. good guest lecturers.»
- Everything was good!»
- Webpage, audio recording»
- Guest Lectures and Workshops»
- the group assignment is a must for such course. The interviews were also very helpful.»
- Robert and Emil, good teachers.»
- Workshops, practical activities and the individual assignments.»
- the twitter-page and the video lectures»
- The recording of the lectures was very useful, especially for the final exam.»
- Twitter!»
- Twitter the drama session with that "drama girl".»
- The groups assignment»
- The assignments. But the way of giving feedback should change.»
- Most of it! The meeting with the people from the business, and the assignments. At least the assignments where we created SRS"s.»
- lecture and course material which is given in advance »
- Information on the course homepage»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Assignment 3, to short time, and our group was a disaster »
- It would be cool to have a weekly mailings with the news (I know it"s redundant to twitter, but still, some news might be missed).»
- nothing»
- assignment 2 (had more trouble interpreting the other student"s ideas than understanding what makes a requirement complete), would perhaps replace it with other kind of assignment.»
- The amount of feedback we received. The examination is in 4 days from now and I am not sure if I understood how to write requirements or any other part of the lesson. It would be better if I didn"t need the grade of the examination to figure it out.»
- Not so much work so you can focus on learning more than just producing material for the report.»
- Volere! Maybe focus more on agile reqeng, most of us have already had courses where we do waterfall requirements specifications and use cases and sequence diagrams etc»
- Assignments with Pass/Fail grade. »
- I know it"s difficult to achieve but more time with the "customer" in the final assignment would add much more value to the exercise. »
- the duration of group project should be longer»
- For the group assignment. Just interviewed with same stakeholder twice. The elicitation information is limited.»
- Staff attitude is not fine.»
- wind up all assignments at least before 1 week and give some time to study»
- you should prepare new slides and materials for next year. we learnt last year class presentation, so this will not happen again.»
- Extent of the volere template usage. It takes a lot of time and gives little benefits.»
- It is better if we get more free days before the exam. It is good to prepare for the exam.»
- Don"t be afraid to stray from slides sometimes. Drawing on the board etc is good for variation, makes lectures more interesting»
- Assignments better starts in the second week instead of the first week.»
- Volere template. It"s very old and very big. I don"t think such template would ever been used in real-life.»
- Maybe even out the workload of the group work for one more week?»
- I think this large number of lectures is not really needed, even the professor got bored at some point. More workshops and less lectures, this would probably fit better the nature of the course. »
- Nothing that comes to mind»
- One system/SRS through the whole course, assignment 1 to 3. Clarify and sort the presentation material, it was a bit fussy.»
- For the last assignment there should be more information on how to deal with the Volere template.»
- The way of giving feedback. Feedback is the most important thing, when students are called to deliever assignments.»
- Parts of the workshop. The walking around expressing different emotions was just uncomfortable. The rest was ok.»

16. Additional comments

- Many thanks to Robert, Emil and others who participated in the RE course.»
- Robert tends to speak too quiet sometimes on lectures.»
- Thank you!»
- how about adding even more invited spokespersons? think it went pretty well with SAAB.»
- Maybe some sort of real life examples/games with requirements would be good to attract the students. It will give them both the feedback and the urge to be better at it.Anything that can make this course more interesting and interactive, cause in the end it"s main subject is interaction. »
- Sweden for Euro 2012!! Best game ever. So proud of the Swedish team!!»
- n/a»
- Some of the lectures got a dry. I think that a lower focus on creating good video lecture and more interaction with the audience would add more value»
- Not OK: "I honestly cannot see how you can have space problems with your solution" Not OK: "uhm, this sounds REALLY suspicious. In your case I would book a chat with Azam IMMEDIATELY" People attend the course in order to learn. While they"re doing it, help them. Do not make jokes out of them not being able to perform to the extend you expected. Not OK: "do you mean the one written here https://www.student.chalmers.se/sp/course?course_id=16645 namely 20 Oct?" Not even if they"re unable to find the course homepage. Also, not OK: "A message to the person responsible (in case he/she is reading this): you are despicable, in the full meaning of the word" Is this what you"d say face to face with someone who cheated on the exam as well? Please, try to be professional. You inform that you"ll be late for consultation meetings 50 minutes before they start, lecturer is late 100% of the time (with 3-14 minutes). These are all very easy things you can improve.»
- Thanks»
-
- no»
- All good»
- Excellent.»
- Another idea I had was that we should also present our group-work in the classroom. This way we can get feedback if something was unclear. This would work better if each team had a different product. I understand that the teams are maybe too many for this task but you could prepare before-hand a list of different products with a few specs each, in order to have a basis for discussion in the interview.»
- Thanks to Robert and Emil, it has been an excellent course.»
- Good work, I liked this course except for my group.»
