- I really like the idea of the student-led seminar, but I think we could"ve chosen the better topic for ours. I think we didn"t spend enough time on preparation. In my view it might be better if we had a system similar to Martin Nilson Jacobi"s one - with submission of the presentation a week in advance.» (Not very rewarding)
- It forces you to read and think about something.» (Yes, quite so rewarding)
- Of course it depends much on what you make of it» (Yes, very much rewarding)

Course goals, level of difficulty, examination

20. What were your impression of the course goals?

22. Did the examination as a whole assess whether you have reached the goals?

Yes, definitely»0 0%

Genomsnitt: 1.85 (bidrar till totalt genomsnitt/jämförelseindex)

- I have a feeling the course goal was a rather introspective process, so not so easy to assess. A simulation project is fun and all, but the deeper issue of rationality was not touched on so much after the introduction.» (Yes, to some extent)
- People passed the seminars just by going there. This ultimately led to that many students stopped reading the articles. If you then freeload on someone else on the project you actually don"t have to do much. But it should not have to come to this. » (Yes, to some extent)
- I think the home assignments could have been more sophisticated, checking the skills in more detail.» (Yes, to some extent)

23. How do you rate the algorithm competition assignment and lecture?

Summarizing questions

7 svarande

Very poor»0 0%

Average»1 14%
Good»5 71%
Very Good»1 14%

Genomsnitt: 4

- Kristian is a very good teacher and it is a fun and interesting subject.» (Good)

25. Is there anything you think should be changed until next year?

- It was very difficult to find a thread in the course to follow. This would have been easier with lectures held by Kristian for example, making the whole thing alot more well defined and mathematical. For example: it took a while to figure out how to actually calculate the nash equilibrium of a game, and it could easily had been covered in one of say 5 introductory lectures with better structure. Also it was difficult to gauge the relevance and what level the student lead seminars were on. It might be that altruism is a seldom used, extremely advanced concept in game theory, it could also be very basic, but I dont know if it is or not. This is a problem. With the course as it is now there is no well defined beginning or end, and it is very difficult to know where to look for more information and where to continue ones studies after the course. »
- Maybe some more mandatory guidance on the projects. »
- It was a great course, but I think it would be even better if the home problems were checking the understanding of the GT concepts in more detail (maybe something like 3-4 short Mathematica-algorithm kind of home problems). I didn"t really like the second home problem, for me it was more of the copy-paste work, instead of sober summarizing the material learned.»

26. Additional comments

- Considering that it is a zero-budget course, it was performed really well, but it has its weak points, a few of which are brought up in question number 25. »
