Summarizing questions

23 svarande

Poor»1 4%
Fair»6 26%
Adequate»6 26%
Good»7 30%
Excellent»3 13%

Genomsnitt: 3.21

- The course is the worst course I have taken during my time at Chalmers.» (Poor)
- I couldn"t learn somethings from lectures but i could learn some things form my project» (Fair)
- ok, but still to high load.» (Adequate)
- Good course to improve your presentation and english skills. I would have preferred to have more lectures that covered the basics in wireless networks.» (Adequate)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- the project approach of the course and the types of topics proposed.»
- the opportunity to practise the students" presentation and writing skills»
- Project, seminars, mini conference, Ericsson visit, Guest lectures»
- Project is more helpfull it should be preserved.»
- The lectures delivered by professionals from Ericsson, they were really informative. »
- Projects are a good educational tool. Having quality guest lecturers was definitely a good point in this course.»
- Project»
- The teacher Hani and the great guest presentors»
- Guest lectures.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- To not be so attached to IEEE format. People who take this course should had take the wireless communication course and this course should go deeper in communications aspects»
- Remove the seminars and "how to write a project report" and "how to give a presentation". They take way to much time away from actual work being done. I also think the project should be abandoned and be replaced by several handins instead. That would better fulfill the course goals of giving an overwiew.»
- the way of juding/marking the results»
- Deadline of the final report submission must be after the mini conference. So that we can improve the report after presentation. Easter vacation, should not be included in the project planning.»
- the workload.»
- Reduce the lecture and try to give more lectures for the project.»
- The feedback regarding the "Project Progress Report" should be given well in advance, preferably before Easter break. We got a rather harsh feedback almost towards the end of the semester, and hardly managed to satisfy the instructor"s expectations. If we would have received it earlier, we could come up with a much more satisfactory final report since the "Project Progress Report" was due before Easter break.»
- The expectations for few months work on the project were set quite high: In topics that are still really new, we can"t really come with new ideas in such a short time. Some students don"t get involved in the project, and others have to deal with their parts. An individual oral assessment could resolve the problem. »
- There should be more time for the project»

16. Additional comments

- This course was bad when I attended it but dropped it in 2008. Now it is several degrees worse, with Hani expecting the work and quality of a Masters Thesis in a 7,5 Hec course while forcing us to attend seminars and making useless "half time reports" instead of actually working. A half time report is not even done in most Master Thesis projects. »
- one thing i like that i always afraid of Presentation means to present infront of student and other .i was not to confident for that .the presentation seminar 1 and 2 give a lot of confidence and i think it will help me in feature and as well final presentation of course.if the time of seminar 1 and 2 extend little more it will help for student to prepare for any kind of oral presentation .»
- Overall the effort from Hani and Nima are Excellent !!! Thanks to Hani, Nima and all guest lectures.»
- Most of the project topics dealt with the Physical and MAC layers and just a few were centered on the Network layer. Since the students at this course come from different backgrounds (Computer and Communications) it would be better to broaden the topics dealing with the Network layer as well. »
