- The text is well written and the content is just right. But the layout of the text isn"t very good. The layout is more like the layout of a novel and not of a teaching book. What"s missing is clarity, or visual structure. It would be great if important parts were highlighted in some way, maybe definitions could be inside boxes (instead of just mentioned inside the text/or not mentioned at all), and the same goes for conclusions derived from other equations and discussions. Just highlight them in some manner to make them stand out from the other equations. It is very important to be clear about definitions and concepts. The other thing that wasn"t too good about the compendium was the lack of figures. Many discussions and concepts would benefit enormously from simple, yet very effective, figures or illustrations. (A very good and easy to use software for vector graphics is Xfig if you"re using Linux or Unix. The resulting figures are then easy to add to your Latex document.)» (Rather bad)

- The compendium was brilliant. The english was unexpectedly good and to one who seeks a deep understanding of the concepts of the course, the long explanations in plain conversational text of these concepts were absolutely gold worth, as we say in Sweden.» (Very good)

- Quite many things are really good about the lectures. + You use the black board. + You explain what you do, as well as your notations + You write on the black board what you want the students to learn. + The lectures are well prepared in advance These things sound very natural but unfortunately not all lecturers do like this. What could be better in the lectures is how new ideas/concepts are introduced. It would be good to to this a little bit slower and more carefully. It might even be a good idea to do explain the theory further instead of doing examples. The Coriolis force is a good example of this. I think that many students would get the hang of it quicker if it had been introduced as something they can refer to and not only as a term in the acceleration expression. (Like what happens if you walk inside a carousel)» (Rather good)

- I think half of the problem solving sessions should be changed to supervised solving session. so one can solve the problems and ask for help only if needed.» (Rather bad)

- The instructor was very good and my notes were vital when understanding the problem solutions later on my own. I would appreciate the possibility to get everything on hand-out and not attend the sessions, since I never can follow any solutions on the black board, I have to do it in my own tempo, but this would probably mean double work for the instructor so it would hardly work.» (Very good)

- Forcing handwriting is meaningless. It changes nothing but making the reports look bad and consume a lot of time. » (Very bad)

- Very instructive, I learned very much from it. Although, the last part had me awake for 38 hours in a row, dedicating all that time to the project, and this was not due to bad planning. The main reasons were that I had to learn Mathematica from scratch and that the number of steps involved in the problem solution was huge! I was merely lucky that someone close by knew the ReplaceAll-command, otherwise I wouldn"t know how to solve for the different variables. Instructions for beginners is needed next year.» (Very good)

- Good to have the same system to work on in both the project and computer lab. But the adams-intro must be better, I learned very little in the inro that I had use for later in the lab. The intro was to basic.» (Rather good)

- I was surprised that two of the questions included friction, since I do not think we put so much focus on this during the course. But really, four hours is a short time if you need to figure out how to solve the problems. I also think you should be able to use an optional calculator (i.e. TI-89). » (Rather good)
- The concept of friction was not something we had specifically seen much of in the course, still, we saw two problems related to friction, which was a bit strange. Other than that, good exam.» (Rather good)

- It is of course possible to copy someone elses project but I don"t think people do that on this level of education. I thought the number of bonus points with respect to the grading levels on the exam was good, given that you had them, it is a bit unfair to raise the grading levels on the exam (if I am not wrong here, wasn"t as much as 18/20 required for the grade 5?)» (Rather good)
- Det är bra, det skulle kanske kunna läggas lite mer vikt vad man kan göra för reflektioner över de resultat man kommit fram till. Så det inte bara räcker med att utföra ett antal "ekvationer/beräkningar". Ett förslag är att man fick poäng på varje del i projektet och det krävdes ett vist antal poäng för att få en 3a i kursen. Tex: 3p rätt eller mindre fel, 2p något lite större fel, 1p gjort ett seriöst försök men ett antal fel. Sedan krävs det 7p för att få ett godkänt.» (Very good)

- Problems with cheating? The computers are not to blame, report students who cheat, not force them to rewrite meaningless lines of text by hand.»
- I had high expactations on this course, becasue I love dynamics and mechanics. I was not disappointed.»
- Some students had problems using mathematica, a short introduction, like in ADAMS, could be helpful for them.»
