- No lectures, the seminars did not give me anything, didn"t see the connection between the different articles and the course-book until the last study week when everyone presented their topic reports. I have not bee inspired at all! » (Very negative)
- The course has been very scattered. It wasn´,t until the presentation of the topic reports that I got a grasp of what the course was about. When I studied for the exam did I understand it bit more. At the exam did I realise how fun the course could have been it we had worked with cases related to specific companies, or at least real-life situations» (Negative)
(Neutral)
- I think that the knowledge presented in the course and the book is valuable but I think we should have had more classes.» (Positive)
- It was very interesting that I tried to relate almost the whole course to my Work Experience.» (Very positive)

- I learnt during the presentation of the topic reports. » (Small extent)
- Not enough lectures!» (Small extent)
- The lectures need to be interesting an to have a certain speed, otherwise are they just a big waste of time. Perhaps bring in people from industry(and don"t say industry don"t use this material, because then is the course just a waste of time).» (Small extent)
(Small extent)
- The lectures were very few.» (Some extent)
- The course could benefit from some more lectures» (Some extent)
- I would have liked more hands on lectures. When it came to the exams questions it didn"t seem that we had been prepared during the course to fulfill the course goals. » (Sufficient)

(Adequate)
- High in the sense, there were lot to remember for the exam. The Course Book was a bit large to cover for the exam and also the Literature Seminar work loads were not equally distributed.» (High)

- We had meetings with our supervisor (mats) but don"t really feel that we got any feedback. When we asked for comments on our report (which was not completed) he pointed out obvious things like "you haven"t completed you reference list" - I would have wanted more feedback on the content, but I don"t think that he had read it. » (Rather poor)
- Good help with topic report, otherwise no need for help» (Rather good)
(Rather good)
- It was very easy to reach both teacher and course assistant.» (Very good)

- Did not contribute at all! Topic reports are a total waste, cases are much better but topic reports are the most unnecessary occupation you can do.» (Very Poor)
- » (Poor)
- It felt like repetition from previous courses. Would have been more interesting with cases. » (Poor)
- instead of topic project can have some more case studies, practical exercises, simulations and games» (Poor)
(Poor)
- I was in a good group where everyone did their part so I can"t complain about that. It would have been nice to have some kind of connection to different parts of the literature. We did a topic report in the course "integrated product development" so it would have been nice to do something else. » (Neutral)
- I think, It would have been better if you could have asked us to explain about the strategy of any company or some kind of Game(Ex. Lean Development Game - I still remember What I learnt in it)» (Neutral)
- Basically a rerun of the integrated product development reports» (Neutral)
- Was easily handled and didn"t take to much time. It was quite interested although I guess the class as a whole didn"t learn so much since all the presentations were squeezed into a 4h lecture, which indeed was the session in the whole quarter with the highest "learnings per hour ratio". I would like to see that the TR are switched to cases where the students analyse companies, and how they should act. Just like we did on the exam!» (Neutral)
- It would have been better to be given a real case with the mission to make a strategy for the company as well as a action plan (since this was that important in the course).. Sure you might get some information of it in the book, but I still don"t know how to make a successful strategy. Think the book often say "think of this and that" but everything depends... That"s why atleast I didn"t know where to start on the exam Q.» (Neutral)
- Some kind of case would have been more interesting» (Neutral)
- always difficult/uneven workload. some people in the group do nothing...» (Good)
- I think my project gave me a good insight in the topic that our group had. » (Good)

- Not impressed with the text book» (Small extent)
- Some of the articles has been quite boring and with a low knowledge-value. Some of the chapters in the book are just repeating what we already know. To conclude I do have a feeling that I already have done this course...» (Sufficient)
- But were not asked for on the exam.» (Sufficient)
- To be honest I did not like the course book at al the first time I read it. There was so much in the book that just didn"t feel relevant. When I read the sections that I had marked myself (during the exam period) it was better. Some of the articles like the one about elderly care was a waste of time. » (Large extent)
- I like the book, but it didn"t seem to be going deep enough to the material, sometimes it felt like I"d read it all before in other courses.» (Large extent)
- The book was useful since some exam questions refered directly to chapters in the book.» (Large extent)
» (Great extent)
- The Literature was really Good to learn. Though it was pretty more things in it. Now even after the course, I remember almost everything.» (Great extent)

Summarizing questions

9. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- The Topic Report, the PBL approach.»
- Honestly, can"t think of anything that I would like to keep. Maybe Nina, she was good. And i liked the movie from YouTube that Mats showed us, TED2010 - importance of creativity.. »
- The student-lead seminars»
-
- Lean game. Two process review of TR were good. »
- Nothing.»
- I think the Course Book is a Good one and some of the Articles too.»
- The subjects in the course. Very interesting subjects.»
- The title of the course?»
- Literature Seminars»
- articles»
- topic report, literature seminars»
- The seminars»
- The seminars»
- Student-led seminars»

10. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The course literature, it"s a bit to shallow.»
- seminars»
- There need to be something that binds it all together, maybe some guest lectures with people from the industry. There have to be someone how can talk about how they work with strategies, organisational learning, creativity. »
- -more lectures on the theories from the book -seminars are not working. either change completely or have teacher that participate actively»
- The topic reports. I would prefer cases instead. It is more fun and you can discuss and exchange ideas with other groups.»
- Some of the articles were bad. The seminar did not give so much, there were too few classes»
- Add 1 or 2 lectures from teachers. More feedback on seminars during the seminar. (Nina was good, but there were some guy who just sat there and played games on his phones and didn"t say anything about the presentation when he was there)»
- The Lean Game was really good and enlightening. Maybe some similar additions would be useful.»
- More lectures, cases instead of seminars and topic reports!»
- Leveraging from Topic Report to presenting a Company"s Strategy. The Literature Seminar"s load and time weren"t equally distributed among the Groups and also for individual students. Because some Seminars had more time to learn and some had very less time.»
- Less activities in the EDIT building. Keeping to Vasa is recommended.»
- The way the course is built. As written above, the subject is very interesting. But, not having any lectures where you as a student get the objective view from the teacher isn"t good. My suggestion for the course on a weekly basis is: Lecture 1: Introductions to the weeks subject. Presentation of the reading material, book and articles. Presentation of a case for that week. Lecture 2: Additional lecture about the weeks subject or a discussion seminar. Lecture 3: Presentation of the weeks case in smaller groups and discussion about it afterwords. This is how all weeks should look like. For the examination I suggest a home exam, where you could work through the questions better than on a ordinary exam. For example the question on our exam, where you should present a manufacturing strategy. It is definetly not something that you do under 4 ours in real life. But as a home exam question it is perfect. »
- The course should not: - Be mandatory, things that are mandatory is so because people wouldn"t attend them otherwice... - Be performed in this way. The absence of lectures takes away the feeling of what the course is all about. There need to be some sort of red thread - Have topic reports. They might be interesting, but so is it to read GP or the autobiography of Donald Trump. Change to case-studies or something similar that actually applies what we are suppose to learn - Repeat things that we already know. I can accept that study week 1 is used to align the group, but then should the learning curve be much steeper then it was now. - The GAP between what the student requires from a lecturer, and what he delivers much be eliminated or at least understood. This is definitely not the case today.»
- More classes and examples of different manufacturing strategies sknce the book does not mention that a single time! Nor any action plans...»
- pedagogy»
- exam questions, more directed discussions in seminars»
- Maybe more lectures, and a bit "quicker", they sometimes felt very slow»
- More classes»
- Have something else than topic report, and more lectures»

11. Additional comments

- I"m sorry to say that this period has been very uninspiring, it is not just because of this course, the SixSigma course has also effected how I have perceived the MOP course. I used to like to go to school by now I just want to finish as soon as possible and go on to do other things. »
- Över lag en mycket bra kurs, över mina förväntningar!»
- One very important thing I wanted to address here is that, the Exam paper wasn"t appealing. It was really stressful to complete the paper. It was really hard to pen down the answers with three case studies in it. Instead of having literature seminars and seminar reports, It would be better if you could have provided us with tasks of answering to questions similar to what you asked in the exam. That could have improved our spot intelligence level and helped us in both understanding the literature, its application and also a number of practice for the exam. And also we weren"t able to deliver our views in that restricted one or two pages. These are my kind appeals. »
- The workload of this period have been very high and perhaps it is better to have fewer assignments to hand in. I basically just did what I had to do but did not have time to reflect or really try to learn from the assignments.»
- Don"t change the subjects in the course but take back the lectures and skip the topic reports, use our students knowledge in a challenging way instead of hold it back. »
- 10p at the exam: A company consisting of 30 employees that are working under a supervisor who has regular meeting. But the employees do not attend so he decides to scrap the meetings and instead just let them work according to the company strategy. Elaborate on how this affects the learnings and the development of the company. 7.5 Credits without to much work -> time and money to do other, more developing stuff.»
- When you don"t have a lot classes you have to guess what"s important in the book/course. And when you make your own summary of the book (from 350 to 13 pages) and you get questions on the exam that you don"t understand how to answer, then something is very wrong in the course. Sure it was a question about the 5Ps and I assume this view was really important, however I didn"t feel that the authors implementation methods were good or covering the steps of how to actually do it. Since the exam would be different due to another book this year, I thought that the book, articles, TRs would be enough to study before the exam but I felt really "lost" on the exam.. I mean, our book about strategies, what to think about, what"s important and so on were explained on 300+ pages, and we had one page to come up with something good. I had big trouble of even know where to start. I couldn"t make up my mind during the exam about any good way to explain all my ideas on only one page (since it was a and b question for two pages). I think the book was good, but I think having a question on the seminars of making a strategy would be good. I mean we have never made any strategy from "company information" so it would be good to have any exercise of it during the course, before the exam. »
- the course can be more lively and more interactive»
- I do have some input on how the exam was structured. The first three questions were really good and could easily be connected to the course content and literature. Especially the small case in question 3 (i think) where you had to choose between three alternatives of sourcing and then motivate. However, the last two questions (the big case questions) were REALLY confusing. I had great difficulties to connect them to any parts in the course literature that could help me solve them. I feel like I studied a lot before the exam and knew what I should know in order to get a high grade but when those two questions came I was completely confused.»
- The lectures focus on the "wrong" things. It is common knowledge that everything cannot be taught by telling (riding a bike), instead of waisting lecture time on that I would have wanted to knwo how this affect actual companies and how they deal with it. Also, to be a good teacher, pedagogy is very important!»
