- It was not always entirely clear what constituted an answer on the questions. That is, when an explanation was necessary and when a full proof was needed.» (To some extent, Yes, definitely)

- The lectures were mainly a fuzzy and directionless run through the text, with little overview and constantly varying notations. When this was pointed out at the mid-term evaluation, the lecturer excused himself that the text was meant to be more formal and the lectures less formal. Still, as it stands, I feel the lectures mainly lead to confusion over what was just said more than insight in the subject.» (Small extent)
- The exercise sessions were excellent. The regular lectures were only meaningful if you read the material beforehand, which probably was the intention.» (Large extent)

- Although it contains some minor errors and inconsistencies in notation, the literature was overall very well written and helped give a deep understanding of the subject at hand.» (Great extent)

- Too close between lectures and exercise sessions. It"s to read all the week"s material and do the exercises in two days, especially with other courses going on too.» (Rather badly)
- The course website was mostly up to date and most information was easy to find. One of the biggest issues was a lak of proper feedback on exercises and assignments. Firstly, although the teacher provided comments, it would have been helpful to see somewhere precisely how many points you have gathered through exercises -and- assignments, during the course. Secondly, even when one week"s exercises depended on the solution of the previous week, the teacher was mostly more than two weeks behind in correcting assignments.» (Rather well)

- Although a lot of time was dedicated to this kind of activity, the teacher had difficulty letting people talk and often came across as very confrontational during exercise sessions.» (Very poor)

11. What is your general impression of the course?

- Although the course itself is interesting and the literature very helpful, the lectures do not add much. More importantly, the teacher"s confrontational attitude and seeming lack of compassion make the exercise sessions very uncomfortable. Students are often pushed into a state where they are at a loss for words and then continuously pushed with seemingly impossible questions for a few more minutes, before they are allowed to take a seat. At one point, the teacher let four students come to the whiteboard to try and prove a theorem, grilling them hard for a few minutes each, before revealing that the theorem could not be proven. This is most likely why the amount of people willing to show their solution to all exercises dropped from during 30 the first week to 8 near the end of the course.» (Adequate)
- The fact that there was no designated book and that the papers only covered a subset of the stuff we had to learn was really nice. It forces people to look around for answers, I think.» (Excellent)

- Exercise sessions was very interesting. - Although the basic idea of the exercise sessions is good, the way the teacher handles them makes it uncomfortable to sit there, even if one is not called up to the whiteboard. Most students who had a correct solution stopped filling it in on the site because the points did not seem worth it.»
- There was to much load of assignments and home exercises. There should be one of them either exercises or assignments.»
- Perhaps you can recommend some more literature related to the topics in the course!»
- Excercises. Its wrong that some students that dont have trouble with some handweaving can mark that they have done the excercises even if they havent and then get points for the exam. »
- Use fire for submissions. Maybe point to some chapters in the book before the lecture.»
