- I feel that the teaching is giving a good overwiew and introduction for each part of the course. But I feel this is okey as long as there good oppertunities for self-studies.» (Some extent)
- I believe that I would have been able to learn just as much by just reading the course litterature and solving problems, this is not a bad thing though, since it clearly shows that the lectures are well connected to the litterature.» (Some extent)

- The handins were the only way to really learn something. » (Small extent)
- I have not used the Rabay book much at all. I find it more complicated(and different) than Kjells slides and kompendium.» (Small extent)
- Big problems with Cremona that couldn"t get both the original and the alternative book. To few swedish compendium, to much to ask for that the students should print 200 pages since there now is a smaller printer quota. » (Small extent)
- It seems like the compendium is more representative to the course than Rabaey´,s book.» (Some extent)
- inconsistent variable usage between the course book and the lecture slides confuses alot. lack of general formulas that explain the whole picture. alot of hidden information, understood only by author of the text.» (Some extent)

- Kjell do an excellent job updating the student portal home page. However there are some important stuff missing, no "kurs-PM" and the "mandatory" info in it.» (Rather well)

- Unclear were the teachers office were. No consultation time and a small number of exercise lectures for questions. » (Very poor)

- I think it is good to mix groups, even thou I know that I should have worked better with my old student partners.» (Rather well)
- Mainly worked together with same group of students that I"ve worked with the last 3 years here at Chalmers and it works well. » (Very well)

- Possibilies to self-studies and the workload should reach "Adequate".» (Too low)
- Demanding and perhaps a little too much... but it worked well since the other running course didn"t require as much.» (High)
- Quite a lot to do with the handins, but I guess that"s a good thing.» (High)
- But that said it was the amount needed to simultaneously learn and meet course goals. » (High)
- The overall workload was adequate but it was uneven distributed.My suggestion are: - Combine hand in #1 & #2(first part) to one. - Last question of #2 can be a part of #3. (Then #2 doesn"t exist any more). - The last hand-in should be in week 6 not 7 and definitely not in week 8 as it was now. Personally I prefer to have the deadline on a Monday/Tuesday(start week 3), then one could work during the weekend and got some last help at Monday. » (High)

- I"d rate it at good only because given the breadth of what we"re trying to cover in some cases solving exercises becomes a problem in some cases. » (Good)

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- There really has to be better opppertunities for self-studies. They were below poor this course. Improvement please. We need mass-training on easy tasks, especially logical/electrical effort, fanout, branches, 0.7RC and much more.»
- Power point lectures are hard to learn anything from. I need to make my own notes on what I believe is hard for me to grasp at first. Now I need to spend a couple of hours going through each lecture"s slides and try to figure out what they mean. More black board would be appriciated.»
- Integration between the home assignments and laborations. Change some details in the Lab-PM to make them clearer on certain points»
- homeassignments should be clear. One suggestion is to start with an introducing text what results of the different tasks is supposed to show, whether asumtions and/or results are carried over to the next task and such. although interpertating what the tasks are trying to show you is kinda part of the homeassignment it can in some cases be to cloaked by the computations/calculations or too farfetched to figure out. A translated compendium to make it fair to those students don"t understand swedish. »
- Smaller home assignments. And clearer questions. Put parts of the home assignments it to labs instead. Its give a better understanding that way. »
- Add the "Kurs-PM". More lectures in the beginning - So the workload is the same during the whole quarter.»
- Some of the home assignment were too large. It took too long to solve some of them. Sometimes the lecture was too close to the deadline for the home assignments. »
- More lab assistants. If I didn"t know Swedish I would be upset by the fact that the compendium was only available in Swedish. I say skip the compendium altogether and supply better page references for the course book or translate the compendium to English.»
- A more consistent notation would be preferred. In my opinion the lecturer often used the same letters of notation (for fan-out, tapering factor and so on) without really explaining what the context were. Also since this differed somewhat to the litteratur it was confusing at times understanding what was what. The lab exercises was pretty good, although I believe the Cadence software was a really poor environment to work in, in terms of user interface. Is this really what is being used in industry? The lab exercises could be closer tied to the home assignments. Also, better feedback on the home assignments would help a lot. »

16. Additional comments

- Handins might be very good, but they would have been even better if we had the oppertunity to train at easier tasks before doing them. After all there should not be any problems with increasing the workload not the first 5 weeks of the semester.»
- Interesting course, but the hand-ins where rather hard.»
- More exercises with solutions throughout the course.»
- Questions on home assignments was sometimes hard to understand and too much time was spent trying to understand the question only to discover that you didn"t.»
- The home assignments took very much time. I prefer less compulsory assignments and more exercises. Fortunately the parallell course DAT090 did not require so much work. »
- Det finns flera tryckfel i tentorna, även den vi hade i år. Jag tycker att de borde kontrolleras noggrannare så att man kan undvika onödig förvirring. Kjell besöker tentasalen 2 gånger så det reds ut men felen blir kvar till nästa års studenter.»

- The point distribution of the course was explained the last lesson before the exam. I haven"t got any e-mail from this course during the semester but I got a feeling that i should have got. The teacher seemed to dislike that there were people taking the course but not the master program. »
- please give the clear definition of some important conception before using it, and also clarify if the conception is refered in other ways.»
