- In our case you can not blame it on nationalities since two Sweds and two Chines did little work.» (Very poorly)
- My group had a lot of disputes, mainly about deadlines and text quality. I think that the main problem was that different group members came from different nationalities with different preferences on how to do things. Some people in the group put logic reasoning and a holistic view first, other people put layout, presentation and early deadlines first and some people tried to do EXACTLY what they thought the examinator wanted. This lead to a lot of discussion but the end result became pretty good.» (Rather poorly)
- We had some problems with different quality levels and requirements.» (Rather well)

- Makes you start reading and also get to know your new classmates.» (Very meaningful)
- It was a very trying task to work with students from other nationalities in regards to preferences on how to do things and discuss it all on english... However, now afterwards it feels like I have a refreshed view on a lot of things, which I will take with me in the future.» (Very meaningful)
- It was awesome!» (Very meaningful)

- Most of the parts were interesting» (Good)

16. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Lectures, main content/frames»
- Unconventional machining process»
- The labs»
- lab work & project work»
- no»
- The labs»
- The labs and the group assignment.»
- The labs are a very good way to remember and understand the details about a process. For me especially the deep drwaing lab was very helpful!»
- The projectwork and the labs.»
- group assignment and the labs. Lectures where very good except the cutting fluid which where to much research information and the sheet metal lectures which very unorganized»
- Labs are very good, really help to understand a lot of things»
- The teaching model, including the leactures, online resources and group assignment.»
- the group assignement»
- Gustav Holmqvist.»
- Lectures, labs (change lab 3 please) and project work.»
- The type of examination, an exam works very well for this kind of course»

17. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Guest lecture swerea was crapy and did not go in line with all the other lectures which made it hard translating.»
- No topics were exactly poor. But it course content was very high. Like few conventional machining process can be eliminated and other "Modern Manufacturing Process" (like EDM, USM and...) can be discussed in depth.»
- The assignment should not be there next year»
- recognition for the project work (exam-40 & project-10 points)»
- no»
- It was not always easy to understand what we were supposed to do after some labs, especially the cutting fluids lab. The things we learned on the lab was enough, the graphs didn"t help much.»
- Föreläsningarna om Sheet Metal Forming var inte givande. Killen från Swerea IVF var inte alls bra föreläsare! »
- Better course literature would be great. The literature was not covering whole the course or I mean it was a bit different than the lectures. »
- The PPpresentation should be a part of the grading or it should be written somewhere that it"s not!»
- None»
- more lab work,since there only three»
- The lecturer on Sheet-metal forming and the company brochures in the literature.»
- lab 3»
- The metal cutting lab should definately involve more interaction with the students. As it was know we more or less just stood there watching (without actually seeing anything)»

18. Comments on depth vs width

To what extent wound you prefer that the course would have had: 1) More depth and fewer technology areas or 2) More technology areas and less depth. Try to comment/answer with your future career as an engineer in focus.

- More technologies. This course is needed to get a basic knowledge about workshops, though it can be made even more modern.»
- As said above, i would like to go for more depth and few technology areas.»
- More depth and fewer technology areas. Felt like it was TOO many areas. Perhaps it is better to focus on those areas that are most widely used in the industry today»
- more technology & less depth, but the project work made us understand the depth knowledge on the processes that we chose for the project»
- no»
- I think it was quite good as it was. As a product developer I think it is most important to know a lot of production areas to be able to consider them while designing. The deeper knowledge would be something I have to look up later on either way. But if you have to go one way or the other I think it is better with option 2.»
- Since I should have done all the taught processes in the basic course, I would like to have a wider range of really "MODERN" manufacturing processes. There I would be interested in more details. For example: Grinding in general is not so important as high-speed grinding or new innovations in grinding. In my point of you, the focus in the course was vice versa and to much focused on general applications.»
- 1 i want to become an expert in manufacturing areas and less of a manager.»
- For my interest(automation) more technology areas would be better, since I do not need to know processes very deep.»
- Personally, the first choice is better since it lays a more comprehensive base for our career.»
- More technology areas and less depth»
- think it"s well balanced. This gives a good understanding of the most common manufacturing technologies and how (and for what) they are applied »
- 1) More depth. Because I feel like if I understand a few things really really good it becomes easier to understand other similar things. Also, the society has so many different genres for technology that even if some more processes can be included by making the course shallower, it doesn"t ensure that the area which I will end up working in will be covered. However, if I understand a few processes very well and thoroughly I also understand the "principles" of how other processes work and can thus learn the specific "details" of another process in place at whatever company I start to work at.»
- »
- The depth contra breadth was raher good I would say. If one whishes to dig more deeply into a certain manufacturing process it is possible through the group assignment»

19. Additional comments

- Concentrating on fewer technologies, it also possible to add a industrial visit regarding to those technologies. »
- no»
- Riktigt bra kurs! Gustav är en oerhört bra föreläsare. »
- Guest lecturers were not so good and let me loose the red thread through the course. I wished to hear s.th. about hard turning and I was surprised, that it was not possible to prepare a lecture about a common manufacturing process in one day... maybe there were other reasons, that we weren"t inform about, but that was my impression.»
- Well, it is really good and i enjoyed it. Hope it will get better and better!»
- Great course!»
- I must say that Gustav Holmqvist has been a very good teacher. Good lectures, present when asking question, and he had a good tone with the students. If possible (as in the undergraduate programs) i would have nominated him for pedagogical price!»
