- too many lectures. they were long, boring, and full of data that is useless to retain since there are standards and books that give us that information. lectures should be oriented to make you understand and not to memorize. i lost my interest in the course more than half quarter ago.» (50%)

- Actually, on student portal under this name is a description of a totally different course, perhaps the predecessor of this one» (I have not seen/read the goals)
- Ince the exam is based on the project choices of the students, the contents of the course seem random.» (The goals are difficult to understand)
- don"t know how many points for 3/4/5» (The goals give some guidance, but could be clearer)
- i totally missed the point between how the goals were written and how the lectures were given. we were taught how to give a presentation in a 20min workshop but the lecturers were not following this simple steps! it was completely impossible to follow an entire 2 hour lecture and understand its purpose without them even mentioning it in one slide!» (The goals give some guidance, but could be clearer)
- But this is not what we have studied.» (The goals clearly describe what I am supposed to learn)

4. Are the goals reasonable considering your background and the number of credits?

- without even seeing the exam i can already say that the examination assess MEMORY SKILLS instead of COMPREHENSION. I hope you read this before grading everyone, because I think you have the wrong model.» (No, not at all)
- The course evaluation questionnaire for the course SSY145 Wireless networks is available until May 18. I would love to answer this question, but there is contradiction in the system..» (I don"t know/have not been examined yet)

- - most of the concepts taught in the lectures (except for the LTE courses) were already known and explained at previous courses (Wireless communications and Computer communication) » (Small extent)
- I guess this course is a self learning.» (Small extent)
- guest lecturers are not teachers. material was not educational and the extent of the "lectures" was too long considering the real goals this course had. once again, it should be about understanding, not memorizing tons of information.» (Small extent)

- Ping Pong could"ve be a good tool to use, but the instructions of what and where to upload things were very unclear (like everything else in this course). Also, I think we should get notifications when new documents are uploaded on the page.» (Very badly)
- the whole course was contradictory and confusing. course memo stated 1 review question, one supervisor stated more than 1 review question, there was no format to follow for the final report and suddenly there were 2, we never knew what exactly to write in the logbook either.» (Very badly)
- for example, we were not explained clearly from the begining were to upload the preliminary files/final documents/review question » (Rather badly)
- people is good, content catastrophic» (Rather well)

Fair»6 13%
Adequate»19 44%
Good»7 16%
Excellent»2 4%

Genomsnitt: 2.69

- It"s not clear what is this course about. a small part of everything is taught, but students don"t learn anything..» (Poor)
- I didnt obtain anything new. The level for the masters course is too low.» (Poor)
- This is the worse course I"ve taken so far in this master program, and actually among the worst I"ve taken during 5 years at Chalmers. Everything was very unclear. Things that were said in the course memo and later was changed weren"t sent out to us students. The whole structure of this course is really bad! I didn"t feel like I learned anything except for the things from the project. Also, how can you let us students write the questions and give the answers for the exam?! It is OK if you read the reports and make sure that the facts are correct. But you publish the reports, review questions + answers written by students even before checking if the language is understandable or if the facts are correct!!! You should make sure that out "course literature" gives us the right facts, I wouldn"t want to waste my time reading things that are not true. Also, a lot of the review questions and reports have such bad english that it is almost impossible to understand and that is not acceptable!!! We shouldn"t need to waste hours to just try to figure out what it is that you are asking for in a question.» (Poor)
- bad organization, bad lectures, bad examination, almost zero communication.» (Poor)
- Some parts of this course are hard to follow for a student from a computer engineer background as myself with no background in signal processing and the like» (Poor)
- a course with many lectures where you don"t learn anything or whatever you learn is shallow and useless.I think the course should be made as the description says in student portal (with deep insight, quizzes and so on)» (Poor)
- Maybe pointed out that it"s more a course for the students from SIgnals and Systems, compared to student form Computer Science.» (Adequate)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- the group work»
- The project.»
- project study, it is a good way to learn the current techniques.»
- research»
- nothing!! consider changing the whole course »
- The project and many experts gave the lectures.»
- Visits to the companies. The grouping system. »
- The idea of giving projects about latest topics. »
- nothing. you have to change how the material is taught and who is teaching it.»
- Studyvisits. Exam with MULTIPLECHOICE questions. The report and presentation.»
- The tradition of guest lectures should be preserved. »
- Everything is fair can maintain the same»
- keep lecturers from industry and company visits»
- Projects Presentation»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- woth the teacher help designing the group will give more fun »
- Clearer information regarding the review questions.»
- the review questions is not logically given to us, It is better to have an order for example according to the books or give us some resources about current papers to read.»
- The projects, except for 1-2 topics the other were too theoretical, nothing practical. Also the number of students per group is too large for a pure "theoretical" project. I would have preffered to develop an application in Java ME/Android/.net mobile/opnet/omnet/matlab »
- class lectures »
- nothing»
- There might be too many people in one group. The slides of the lecture cannot be seen easily.Suggest modifying the projector or changing classroom.»
- Log book should be ignored, it takes too much time to fill it every time.»
- Ping Pong - I am still unaware why it is so important to update things only in the ping pong. Its really very hard part for us. We don"t have proper idea what to write in those log books and we have not used it previously. Though the course have made us forcely to use that PING PONG at least they should not have considered for points. Because 10% of marks will be awarded from that ping pong which we are operating for the first time and don"t know much about it.»
- see answer 14.»
- nil»
- i think the course as it is is a real failure. we have a lot of guest lectures and thats okay, but there are 6 or so lectures given by teaching staff. i, who am a MPCOM student haven"t benefited at all from them. almost everything i hear i knew before (learned here at CTH). this course should be taken off our program and given to networks and dist. systems people who know nothing about cellular networks or so.»
- Something about presentation topics.»

16. Additional comments

- no»
- I suggest another company tour in addition to the general ones which are at the end of course. the lecturer help students to be able to find and visit the company related to their research. if possible introduce them the companies working in that field here if any exist and introduce them to company to let them go and visit there. i think in that way the research will be more practical and interesting.»
- The Guest Lectures are not that interesting. They are very boring and sleepy. They might have done better.»
- I feel that I will fail the exam only because I can"t understand the review questions. Also, there are a lot of questions posted by the students that are too detailed and not relevant for the rest of the class. One last thing...We get one week to read all the reports and understand the different topics, that is not reasonable. If you argue that we only need to read up on the review questions, then I think you have missed the whole point with teaching. Just reading up on the review questions is not "learning", it"s "memorizing", and the grade should not be set after how good you are at memorizing things.»
- Guest lectures are all good.»
- we just had a visit to the (please note the next word) AUDITORIUM of ASCOM (note again that i didn"t say ASCOM). we had a 2 hour lecture and then went back home. i lost 2 hours in the bus for that. wasn"t it easier to bring the lecturer to chalmers instead of bringing 40 students to ASCOM? next time make sure the company visit is a real visit and not only a lecture in a different place.»
- Stated wether the review questions should be a multiple choice question or text question. Some thought that it had to be a small novell.»
- If we are taking only 2 courses in this quarter, the course workload of Wireless Networks seems very less. They can expect more form students rather than just presneting some prilimary literature study. »
- nil»
- please change this course or terminate it. it is a waste of time as it is»
- ok»
