- I don"t know which are the course goals.» (?)
- It´,s seems that the students knowledge about control systems seems somewhat overestimated. You should focus on teaching more basic control systems/strategies and maybe som tutorial about it.» (Yes, the goals seem reasonable)
- I felt there was a need for knowing exactely how a car was built up and functions to fully be able to understand the course. This was knowledge I did not have in advance.» (No, the goals are set too high)

- It was unclear which level the answers to the exam should be explained in. Should i write 3 rows or 3 pages on each answer on the exam...? It was unclear how the examination wold take place up until the second last week, totaly uncomprehensive to me how it could end up like that.» (Yes, definitely)

- The coure failed to give a good summary at the end. Failure to explain some basic terms. Failure to explain the layout of the course clearly.» (Some extent)
- I would say that the control part of the course was good, but at a quite high level and not really linked to the rest of the course. Would be interesting to see how it could be implemented "for real"» (Large extent)
- Control lectures could be more fun, and easier explained i think. The hybrid leassons were good and interessting.» (Large extent)

7. What did you think about the different lecturers/teachers?

- Daniel could tell more than just the word on the powerpoint slides and adapt the lecture to his 4hours not 1.5h. Otherways i was happy with the lecture except Bo Egardt´,s could be more practically related!»

8. What did you think about the assignments?

- Assignment 2 was really good and I really felt that I became more confident using simulink and matlab.»
- The only thing is that assignment 1 takes too much time and if some part of it was given as a mandatory lab where all student are supposed to follow the instructor in the design and then answer some questions it would have been much better. That way, more time can be given to assignment 2 to possibly implement multiple energy management strategies.»
- Both assignments were at a good difficulty to teach us as much as possible in the time allowed.»
- The assignments where good. Maybe a bit unclear on what we should actually simulate/write about it. »
- Great assignments, but the files needed SHOULD be uploaded right away!»
- I loved the assignments .. It really helped me understand the course . But I think it would be great if the time for the first assignment is shortened and more time is given for the second assignment ! »

9. To what extent has the course literature and other material been of help for your learning?

- "this year we will use the book a LOT more than last year, since we got a lot of critisism about that last year" -Sven´,s words on the first lecture. Since then, the book where not mentioned again one single time, too bad because it was a very expensive book (900kr). Reading in the book, very little was reveald there whith finally came on the exam. Most things could be learned from internet and lecture notes alone.» (Small extent)

- I missed a document telling all necessary information, like deadlines,exam, what to read for the mid-term, etc» (Rather badly)

- a special someone thinks its ok to leave in the middle of the study period for a one week vacation, especially when the examination procedure hasnt been determined. Shouldnt those things be fixed BEFORE a course starts?!» (Very poor)
- The opportunities on the lectures was good as usual but during the exercises everybode had to wait way too long. It took daniel over 2 hours to walk around and help all goups ONE time, this was the week when sven was on vacation. When sven was there we could get answers on our questions within 10 minutes and help from Daniel within 1.9 hours.» (Very poor)
- it was only daniel that could give some answers to the questions, don"t now what sven was doing on the computer sessions» (Rather poor)
- more helping techers are needed in the matlab-classes» (Rather poor)
- I got help during the lab sessions, but Daniel only solved the problem, but did not tell me what the problem was!» (Rather good)
- Very friendly teachers! During the hours reserved for assignments there should definately be more tutors to help Daniel with the high workload.» (Very good)

- Since the teacher didn´,t force a goup meber upon os we teamed up with peaple we know better and worked very well.» (Very well)

- If you used matlab it was OK. If you decided to work more deeply with simulink (new software to us) it was a very intense workload.» (Adequate)
- mainly for the second assignment but it was ok and that allow us to learn and to have more reflexion about the assignment.» (High)

- The workload was lower than before x-mas. The number of assignemts where lower than usual and the midterm enabled us to focus more on the other course at the end of the study period, which was good.» (Adequate)

- It has to be clear at the beginning if there will be an final exam or not. It is not ok to say that there will be an exam about a week in advance» (Adequate)
- Somehow the course managed to miss the target. It also left us without any overall impression of what a hybrid is, just sweet talking about a better environment. The course should have focused more on for example mechanical connections i a hybrid, battery packadges and ther 300 volt problems, how the overall layout could/must be altered for a hybrid etc. Instead we ehere left with very light knowledge about electric motors, batterys and som fuzzy control system.. » (Adequate)

17. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Better organisation when it comes to scheduling»
- Assignment 1"s method should be changed. Having it as a mandatory lab where students follow the teacher in the design step by step and then answering some questions would take much less time and that time could be used for assignment 2.»
- Possibly add a small section on the assignments to use the controls theory, I feel like we learned a lot in lecture and never got to use it. »
- Sven should be removed from the course. He should be replaced with someone that sets clear goals for the course and gives adequate help during the study period. »
- As said before, problems and possibileties with hybrids lite the layout and mechanical connections. Maybe a simple (manual) calculation example on how mouch energy one can retrieve from brake regeneration.»
- Daniel Harensten. I think Daniel was not a good communicator - he may be very knowledgeable, but knowledge is of no use if it is not shared. It would best if Sven can get someone else to replace him.»

- Simulation of Split Hybrid powertrain as an assignment could be added. Instead of a seperate mid-term and a final written exam a single exam would be much better assessing the student knowledge.»

- Lectures about control were not really interesting as it was very difficult to see the goals and it is such a large area so that it was not possible to go into details. The instructions of the assignments were not enough precise. Lectures about electric machines and batteries seemed more like some introductions of these areas rather than really teaching us all about it. Why focussing on DC machines wheareas there are hardly ever used for electric or hybrid powertrain ?»

- It would be good to have some additional litterature for the assignments. Especially the last one was hard without the help from teachers. »
- Its pretty amazing that the course pm wasnt fully finished til several weeks into the study period, lack of respect to the students!»
- Taking a vacation in the middle of the course shows little respect for the students, especially whan a replacement teacher wasn´,t supplyed, dismissing the need for a course summary does so to.»
- I bought the course book for nothing it did not help me at all, since it was really difficult to see its goals. It gives the impression of going into details but it is not the case. Morover this book is really expensive.»
