- The teaching has been a disaster. Half of the lectures was not held at all, and the rest covered _one_ topic, cache coherence. The first lecture I attended Sally spent 30 minutes of the lecture updating the course homepage.» (Small extent)
- I could not learn this course well because I could not learn so much from teacher due to her many absence. But, the delivered exercises helped me a lot in understanding the course.» (Small extent)

- The Culler/Singh book was quite good, but really outdated. A few things has happened since -98... The book draft really needs more work, parts of it was completely impossible to follow. In my opinion cache coherence is a quite simple and intuitive topic, best illustrated with more visual aids and less text.» (Some extent)

- When the course started the course homepage was not available at all, only a two years old version. later on a new one appeared, but it was not linked to from the student portal. It was neither mailed out to us attending the course. Use the student portal! I know Sally had problems with the permissions, but that"s not really a valid excuse. Fix it!» (Rather badly)

- My lab parter was not really interested in the course at all. I had to explain such trivial concepts as speedup to him. He also barely spoke at all, not even guaranteed to respond if I asked him an explicit question.» (Rather poorly)

- Course load was not so much. But, actually, I could not grasp the things only due to the fact that in the begging of the course the most of the time is spent by not lecturing and in the end of quarter when every body is heavily burdened then the course was going to be covered.» (Adequate)

- There is more to parallel computer organization and design than cache coherence... We barely touched message passing, directory-based protocols or any other subject for that matter.» (Poor)
- Due to focus of the course, some details are left out of scope. Of course, it is impossible to cover all implementation details, but still, I don"t feel that I know enough to, e.g., describe some results of lab assignments in full detail without any doubt left.» (Adequate)

- Rename the course to 7.5 HEC Cache Coherence techniques. The labs did not really give you anything, the actual work to do was trivial but still required lots of time due to meaningless simulations...»

- Perhaps course should be organized as a project (similar to TDA282 course).»

16. Additional comments

- (1) I request to teacher to please don"t leave the class at all. If she is not able due to any reason then there must be an alternative. As its a quarter system setup and only two lecture absence causes 15 percent reduction in the total lectures. (2) I think that the work load should be in the begging of the quarter and not at the end.»
