Goals and goal fulfilment

Genomsnitt: 3.25

- How ever I were under the impression that we were not to do any electronics construction, but the last project is at least very close to that.» (The goals clearly describe what I am supposed to learn)

4. Are the goals reasonable considering your background and the number of credits?

Answer this this question and the succeeding one, only if you do know the course goals.

- But there is one thing that I would like to add. The course should be spread over 2 quarters one of which should be in the 2nd quarter and the other in the 3rd. And the circuit design techniques for data converter sub-blocks should also be included in that so that by the time we reach the stage when we are to do the project, we would have already developed a good understanding of the various conversion techniques.» (Yes, the goals seem reasonable)

5. Did the examination assess whether you have reached the goals?

- Didn"t buy the book, since it"s way too expensive and not really vital to succeeding in the course. And on top of that, Chalmers students can get it on PDF via the library, maybe you should advertise this to next years students?» (Small extent)

- even out the labs, lab 3-5 were extremely easy while lab1 was the toughest.» (Adequate)
- very suitable in my opinion» (Adequate)
- i think some part of the hand-in assignment is a bit difficult for student who comes from a different back ground (i.e. to design the ADC circuit with capacitors and amplifiers). The individual submission requirement also brought up the level of difficulties. » (High)

- If the mandatory handin is partially about hardware limitations please talk about it more in the class.» (Adequate)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- maybe some brief introduction of circuit design?»
- focus on circuit level»
- That we were allowed to choose groups!»
- lab sessions»
- The labs were very good, they quite clearly illustrated the phenomenon we were to study. And i really liked that we generally did not have to develop MATLAB code to do the labs. In the courses were students have to do a lot of Matlab code its often thought that the labs them self are not that hard, but Matlab is. So it diverts the focus from the labs towards Matlab itself.»
- Labs were good and helped develop a good understanding in of the course.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- the TA should be changed»
- all works should be changed to a group work. it maybe unfair "cause there always be some group that only one person works. but an oral exam can be required and the grade for the hand-in should depends on both report and oral exam performance. »
- nothing»
- Short oral presentation for the handin! I know of students with a working system that don"t understand half of what they have done/copied. »
- hand in problem needs to be clear. The things that want from students are unclear. Better explanations have to made by instructor.»
- Maybe a small notification via mail and/or the message board on PingPong when documents as the last handni report have been uploaded.»
- 8 am class should be shifted to some other time slot.»

16. Additional comments

- Since TA didn"t do Labs, He couldn"t answer questions in the lab »
- Over all a very nice course!»
- Circuit design related aspects must be added»
