- john"s lectures are not quite interesting , he is teaching and writing in the board simultaneously, i couldn"t follow him . His classes are only derivative classes he can give notes of his derivations and concentrate on explanations more more.Derong yong just give the description of problem and gives us the formulae and substitute , it should be more of "how to approach the problem" rather like mathematics for a school kid» (50-75%)
- I didn´,t attend to all the lectures, because at the finishing of the lecture period I realized that to attend was useless. So instead of going to the lectures, I went to the study rooms to read the lecture notes, and I managed to understand a little bit better.» (>75%)

- take the question paper and examine the same with the lecture notes and see for yourself how much of the problems could u attend» (Rather bad)

- Sorry. Hum.. John is not able to comunicate the idea of what the stuff is about, you as a listener can not make a mental image of how the phenomena works. He just talks about it, but does not achieve to transmit. » (Very bad)
- I got lost a lot in the derivations and the point of the derivation. It needs to be related to the practicality of what the lecturer is trying to show.» (Rather bad)

- its a mathematics class ,,,,, it should be more of pragmatic problem solving sessions like she should teach how to approach the problems not only giving formulas in the board and copying it » (Very bad)

- Difficult question. There are parts that show how to mess with the basic concepts, but the thing is that I spent more time making the codes to work than playing with the concepts and experimenting whith them. I mean, even when I dedicated much time to the assignments, I got no time to play a little bit with the codes to see whant happened when moving the parametters up and down. Also, in the course evaluation meetings the people said that some of the assignments were to basic, but for me every one of the assignments were very hard to understand what where asked and how to solve it.» (Rather bad)

- four assignments gave us, a very little time to concentrate at the end» (Rather bad)

- Giving 4 assignments was not a problem . But i felt the 1st assignment didnt help and would have felt better if it was not there. The assignments were spread out over the entire study period and was till the penultimate week of the exam . This didnt help and made me even more struggle.» (Rather bad)

13. What is your opinion about using Matlab as tool in this course?

- It"s all good. It"s useful and it"s familiar to me.»

- i dont know matlab when i started this course, but with class mates support i find myself writing codes at the end and made the assignments possible, thanks for using, actually it was easy to develop graphs and things than using microsoft excel»
- it is very good to use Matlab because I learned a lot.»
- Matlab is being used here in a very huge amount. Assignment 2 was terrible after we saw the solutions.»
- It was good because peple like me, that do not know too much about the use of matlab, learned how to use it. It was not too good because I messed more with matlab that with the matters of the course.»

- The assignments and the inadequate course book was the problem according to me. The number of assignments is high. Too much of expressions will not be a problem if there were good explanations (eg. Transient Cornering) » (5 (Too high))

- I couldn"t understand the vehicle dynamics from your lectures or problem solving sessions.It may be my fault too, but the way i feel is, it should be more pragmatic or for reason lectures could be understandable, nothing seems to have made it to my mind.» (1 (not at all))
- I got some idea of what vehicle dynamics is about, but I simply couldn´,t get the main objetctives of the course.» (2)

- It seems to me that the course was splitted in four parts that doesn´,t had any thing to do whith each other. First, I simply couldn´,t understand what was going on in the lectures. Then the assignments seemed to talk about something different frow what I copied from the black board. Then I started to study from the lecture notes three weeks before the exam, but when I sat down to solve the problem solving sesion´,s problems, one day before the exam, it was like not having studied anything at all. It was completely a different thing. I got doubts about how some problems were solved, but there were any place to look for some information at all. Looking at the lecture notes or what I copied from the blackboard or the assignment procedures was useless. » (Poor)

- I couldn"t really examine the exam since i am very weak in the subject.» (?)
- I don´,t have an opinion about that, because I studied for a different thing. It was like studying for the elementary course and making the exam for the advanced one. It was like something like the problems of the problem solving sesions, but they were harder. I only focused on solving what was enough to pass the exam, because going on further was away my posibilities.» (No opinion)

- with only 26 hours gap between the previous exam and vehicle dynamics it was really damn tough» (Very bad)
- Not near enough time to finish the exam"s 5 questions.» (Very bad)
- The time in-between the exams WERE VERY VERY SHORT. I don"t know how this was made ! Its not encouraging ! It made us struggle a lot !! After assignments on the last week and ONE DAY to study for VD after the first exam was seriously not helping !» (Very bad)

- Maybe a little less derivation of equations during lectures and more focus on relating equations to real world scenarios.»

- The workload of assignments should be reduced. The lecture must be made interesting.»
- The structure of the course, the lectures, the lecture notes, the problem solving sessions, the assignments. All of them should match one each other.»
- assignments are good but need to reduce some burden by reducing the no of assignements.»
- If the exam gives 3 points, it should not be as an 7.5 point exam. The assignments gave 4.5 points and the exam 3. The assignments gave enough to do during the course... But throwing in an exam that is as tough as in a 7.5 point course is just not fair. We had too little exercises to practice on for the exams. When we looked back at how the exams where in the previous years, 2006-2008, we saw that they were much easier than the past few years. »
- 1 - Please give more time to study for the exam - give more time after the previous exam or make it the first exam. 2 - Please make the course book more explanatory 3 - Please give handouts of all the derivations and provide more explanations in the class rather than what was followed this year. 4 - Please make the Assignments submissions last date 2 weeks before the exams so that we get to concentrate more on the exam.»

- My expectations of the course were like understanding n important part of the Milliken´,s. I look at it and I recognize a little bit of a little bit of the chapters, but I don´,t feel like having had a course about vehicle dynamics, the difference from what I know and understand after the course and what is written in that book is still enormous.»
- need to reduce the burden a bit as far as assignents are concerned.. it would b more better to give some problems to solve as a home assignment and to submit them instead of the fourth assignment. »
