- The course is based on a lot of mathematic concepts and explanations of these concepts or applications are not enough highlighted. The links between the courses are not always obvious. It could be good to have a paper support for the course, especially to avoid mistakes in equations containing lots of variables.» (Small extent)

- There were consultation times scheduled, but when you asked a question you got answered by a question. Never got the answer i wanted.» (Very poor)

- Handins were said to be solved individually which is bad. » (Rather poorly)
- Problem with working with new people, that didnt attend booked meetings or contributed to the solutions. It is better to fully choose your lab co-workers by your self and people you know you work good with.» (Rather poorly)
- Though one in my group hadn"t read a signals and systems course before. Different ambition levels complicated things because the other one that knew signal processing was all the time counting with my help in a riduculous extent since she wanted to be perfect. » (Rather well)

Genomsnitt: 3.83

- A lot of late MATLAB-nights...» (High)
- To have hand-in problems AND tutorials may be too much, we spend a lot of time on hand-in problems since they are graded and have thus last time to spend on the tutorials» (High)
- Because the Hand-In problems and group projects were very good I"m not choosing the "Too high" option, but it this course took a lot of time.» (High)
- The time to do the project was too short. Two projects instead of three would be better.» (Too high)
- Project and hand-ins all the time, and they were not really related to the exam so you did not have time to study for the exam.» (Too high)
- 2 projects (3 reports) + three handin assignments + 2 oral exams + Final exam = too much work for one course» (Too high)
- Althougt the handouts and the project were very good and I learned a lot from doing them they also required a lot of time. I did not pass my other course because of that.» (Too high)
- The projects doesn"t have clearly stated questions which makes it almost impossible to understand what the teacher want. A lot of time has been spent on understanding what were asked and judging from the score on the projects we didn"t fully understand. The hand-ins can also be made more clear.» (Too high)

- very bad teachers and assistants. » (Poor)
- The course is based on a lot of mathematic concepts and explanations of these concepts or applications are not enough highlighted. The links between the courses are not always obvious. It could be good to have a paper support for the course, especially to avoid mistakes in equations containing lots of variables.» (Fair)
- Although the all the projects and assignments were interesting to do, they were also distracting meaning that focusing on all the reports and handins didn"t leave enough time for the learning the theory behind those projects.» (Fair)
- didn"t match what I was looking for, but the course is good for the right person.» (Fair)
- Course was good. projects and hand-ins are also good. But i think exam is somewat difficult.» (Adequate)
- Very nice course. I especially like the large amount of MATLAB usage because it is easier to understand if you are able to simulate different systems. Fun and interesting labs. Great lecturer!» (Excellent)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Tomas MATLAB simulations Projects Hand-ins»
- the prof. of this course is wonderful.»
- the course structure, lecture + project + hand-in problem»
- Ingemar. Really good job!»
- Projects, Assignments, studio Sessions»
- The projects. Learnt alot from them and it was very good to get feedback and discuss them with Ingemar afterwards.»
- the projects»
- The book. »
- Book»
- the projects + feedback»
- Hand-ins, Projects, Lectures»
- studio sessions and book and projects»
- Projects»
- The hand-in problems and laborations»
- The oral exams»
- projects and assignment taking strategy»
- The whole course »
- Book is very nice. Ingemar Anderson is also very nice.»
- Everything. Maybe you can change it in some way to make it possible to get at least some time to do exercises etc. to make the preparations before the exam a little bit easier»
- tutorials and computer sessions»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Better PSS teachers Perhaps it is possible for Tomas to use more simulations during lectures?»
- 1) More Exercises Should be solved 2) Previous term exams could be reviewed 3) lectures could be made in Power point or word and let student to use them. 4) TA for project should be more accessible and more kind also. »
- the project memo, coz it does not clearly state the requirements»
- Please at least shorten it down to two projects and put the deadlines earlier in the period.»
- Make sure the studio sessions are more interactive or some thing like a lecture. »
- You should have feedback also on the hand-in problems. Now you didnt know what was right or wrong, you only got the points.»
- the hand-in problems or the tutorials (keep one but not both)»
- number of tutorials. Do the studio session in an other way. Improved the lecture using matlab examples ...»
- tutorial should be given in such manner to make the student ready for the examination.»
- maybe it is possible to publish a solution of the homework»
- you got very few points for the projects, even when you had spent 30-40 hours on the project. One project we spent like 30 hours on, and got 3 points for it. Same amount of time spent on studies for the exam would have resulted in 40 points.»
- More exersice hours, more studio sessions, but with changed format. TAs should not just answer the questions, but take an inniciative and explain everything in details. »
- Exam difficulty»
- the tutorial material as they were too easy compared to the lectures and exam. the TAs must be changed as they seem to be unaware of the course contents»
- As mentioned before, having many projects and assignments at the same time does not give you the opportunity to really focus on the task. So I believe it would be better if the 3 hand-in assignments were merged with the tutorials/computer studio sessions. This way there would be more time to do the projects properly.»
- Making the lecture notes a PDF version»
- tutorials»
- More "starter" help for some of the assigments»
- Tomas McKelvey, most of the time does not give answers to the questions and hence discouraging students who ask questions. He should encourage the students to ask the questions.»
- Exam can be more related to the lectures.»
- everything seems fine»
- A more clear question formulation in both hand-ins and projects.»

16. Additional comments

- In my opinion the load of this course is very high and should be lower than this.»
- very bad administration, i will tell my friends NOT to read this course.»
- More exercise hours»
- Thank you for offering such a nice course.»
- The 2 projects were an interesting part of this course, however, lack of a supervision during lab sessions didn"t give us the opportunity to learn during practice. There were countless hours of sitting in the lab trying to figure out how to implement a concept while we had a wrong understanding of the concept in the first place. And we didn"t understand the concept until the oral exam (which was already too late). So, if the purpose of a project is to implement a concept it"s better to help the students understand that concept thoroughly before struggling with different solution. Therefore presence of a supervisor in lab sessions is really necessary.»
- ok»
- Very good and useful course.»
- no»
