- Exam had a very few topics covered and it was unexpected.» (No, not at all)
- Would have preferred an exam that spanned the entire course instead of two random subjects.» (To some extent)

- The point here is that the examination had its major part from 1 topic only which is a little bit not good in the sense that if a person is weak in that topic, its possible to lose marks on the exam. This should not be the case because if I prepare all the topics but lag a little bit in one topic, it should not affect my results in a really bad way. So in order to have good balance, examination must be from all the sections studied with almost equal contribution during the course » (To some extent)
- For example "compression" was hardly not asked in the exam, although it took a quite great part in the lessons.» (To some extent)

- Especially 2d and 2e. If you have a reasonable understanding of wavelets, you can figure out the answer. This is how exams should be, not copying phrases from the book or lecture notes. You should learn a lot on the exam as well.» (Yes, definitely)

- I think it would be better to have lectures and computers studies seperated. What we did at the computer part of the lectures are things we could have done in our sparetime and in that way one could get more information out of the lectures.» (Some extent)
- The teaching was helpful, but often very slow and without technical details and derivations - "use this magic fomula and it will work", I would prefer to know why it works.» (Some extent)
- I do not at all like the concept of students answering questions and speeking straight out in the classes. In my oppinion it gives a very alarmed climate in the class room, which I and all of my friends didn"t like. Our main complaint was with students telling every thing that came to their minds even if it wasn"t remotley correct. This made us skip many of the lectures... I would also like to seperate the lectures from the computer practices.» (Some extent)
- I think the lectures could be improved quite a lot. Mixing teaching and exercises for the student just makes the lectures extremely slow. It"s annoying to have to wait for half an hour before everyone has completed some exercise. It would be much better to divide the teaching into pure lectures with theory and other sessions dedicated to the exercises. That would make it easier to choose what lectures to go to, and would also make less time be wasted before Alessandro can get people back to listening after each exercise.» (Some extent)

- I don"t like the concept of two different web pages, but the most annoying thing was that the non official home page was not reachable either from Google nor from mr. Romeos homepage so you needed to know the address to get to it.» (Rather badly)

- The cooperation with the hand full of students I usually work with, and did the image processing project with, worked very well as usual. But the cooperation between me and the class as a whole was rather poor. Might be because of the different academic background of all students, but I felt that the I was far more advanced than most of the class. This should not be a problem, but the high number of irrelevant questions/comments slows down the lectures and gets frustration.» (Rather poorly)
- Having some of the international students in the class is sometimes like a children"s playground. Not what I"m used to at Chalmers bachelors level. Learn to shut up and stop sucking up to the teacher!» (Rather poorly)

- because of what I"m used to from the engineering physics program.» (Too low)
- This was my first course at masters level. The bachelor courses at chalmers are harder than this, unfortunately.» (Too low)
- If you are allowed to bring anything to the exam, you do not feel very encouraged to learn a lot before the exam. The project was very good though, I learnt a lot doing it.» (Low)
- The average workload was low, but at the time of the project where the workload was higher it collided with projects in my other course. Because of this it was hard to give this project as much attention as it deserved.» (Low)

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Examamination rules should be adhered from the start of the course»
- The homepage could be improved some what, and the lecture notes could need some touching up. I wouldn"t mind something about wavelets added to them. I also would like some clear rules about how the project presentations should look. It"s hard to follow when someone scrolling down a document you can"t read the text on since it"s to small or when there"s too much text. Just a simple "think about this" - document for the presentation, would be good. Also the presentations had been better if they had been held in another room, with only one projector. »

- I don"t really like when you searching too much in the papers during the exam. Maybe better with a lower level and without papers?»
- You should not be allowed to bring everything to the exam. Maybe some material but now it was too easy.»
- I would like less focus on compression. It certanly is a important topic, but it is not one in which I"m intrested in. I also don"t think it is so important since advances in storage and transmission techniques have made it unimportant in many areas. I would think compression could be moved to an other course which student who will need it can take.»
- Try and decrease the disruptions during the lectures. There are a lot of opportunities to ask questions before the lecture, during the break and after the lecture. Use them!»
