- the course is a quite good, but it"s sometimes rather difficult to understand the concepts.» (Fair)
- The course has helped me to understand solid state physics much better and showed how to apply it for practical estimations. Maybe the lectures were too relaxed sometimes, but it was easy to follow.» (Good)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- labs and groupwork»
- the solving sessions. the compendium.»
- The general structure and topics covered.»
- The course assistant.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Teaching speed was too high. I would say that almost the most important and the largest part of the course was taught in the first 4 weeks. And it was rather difficult to understand and follow the lecture with such speed. It would be helpful if student could have the answers to the question sets after the solving session. The solving session can be more beneficial if it is performed on the black board, partly.»
- Lab works should include some hands-on experience (this year they were helpful for understanding material better, but we didn"t see any equipment working and haven"t done any measurements)»
- The professor»
- two things i must say, 1st, there should be tutorial, where teacher or tutor solves some unsolved problem, and then give some assignments to student as home work. It will give numarical understanding to the phenomenon. or you can assign 5 or home assignments where the successful comeletion can give bonus marks in main exam. second, when u talk about laboration, it should not be just theoritical demostration,...i dont think if we have done any experiment, or practical work in whole course except viositing MBE machine once. Also, as per as my interaction with other student, i must say, that when teacher explain on black board, the more student understand...teaching is not just sliding PPts, the knolwdge delivery is also very inportant in simpler words. (i am sorry if i am more critic) »

16. Additional comments

- I think the teacher must dedicate much more time to the conceptual teaching of the subjects in the course. »
- The new professor in the next year should have enough time for students to ask questions and treat unbiased. Does not speak swedish in the class to describe the questions for swedish students since Chalmers is an international university and teaching should be in english.»
