- I attended almost all the exercise classes. I took more then 50% lecture classes but after analyzing, I came to know that class lecture were monotone and there was nothing interested and all things revolving around a thing namely reverberation chamber. That was the main reason due to which I could not take the last few lectures.» (75%)

- Workload is too much, i think there are some topics which can be skipped.» (No, the goals are set too high)
- Because the students from different masters program were taking this course. That is why these goals seem to be different for different students. But I think so, goals should be same. Because I took a course in this quarter, in which students from different masters program were there. Adequate»1 5%
Good»8 40%

Genomsnitt: 3

- The Lab instructors except Ashraf didn"t have a clear idea about the instruments and about the goal of the labs. They were failed to answer the questions of the students. » (Poor)
- a bit simple, often a bit confusing at times were the only apparent thing that we did was click a couple buttons and then some magic result appears with no real explanation as to its derivation» (Fair)
- there must be some project...in which we are asked to design an antenna, and we see it practically...there is lot more to do for antenna design....but there was nothing like this....even they must teach ho to design a dipole antenna for practical use for some band.....i must say that...we are proud to have all the equipment in labs....but nothing special benefit has been introduced to students» (Fair)
- I didn"t learn as much in these labs as I usually do. They did not provide much understanding of the concepts behind.» (Fair)
- It was usefull to understand some things and to ask more questions and curiosities.» (Adequate)
- I think u can give more responsiblity to student in labs since the most part of labs is done by supervisors.» (Good)
- The labs were interesting, the staff was accessible and really helpful, helped me understand a lot.» (Good)
- The laps were very interesting and we enjoyed them a lot.» (Good)

- a bit hard maybe» (Good)
- They permit to dig into some fundamental aspects of the subject.» (Good)

Summarizing questions

15. What is your general impression of the course?

(compared to other courses at Chalmers)

20 svarande

Poor»8 40%
Fair»2 10%
Adequate»6 30%
Good»3 15%
Excellent»1 5%

Genomsnitt: 2.35

- This is the worst course among the courses I took in Chalmers.» (Poor)
- Bad book and too much focus on recruiting phd students. Also to much talk about what the antenna group has achieved (I don"t care!)» (Poor)
- Most of the lectures were not satisfactory. It seems that teacher is advertising his work. Most the time when the lec slides contained something useful, they were not told properly rather they were used to be skipped or taught quickly. However, emphasis on other things (like who did what and where he is now) was higher. Exercise classes were rather better than lecture classes. I took that because I had a great interest in this field, but i am now disappointed. » (Fair)
- Sometimes it was hard to follow so many math passages just posted on several slides, without an explanation of the raw math but not of the overview on them.» (Fair)
- I think, this course must include some point based projects (Like simulation or designing of small antennas). and these points should be considered towards final exams» (Adequate)

16. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- labs and study visit»
- The labs»
- exercise, labs, assignments»
- Lectures Exercises and labs and industrial tour.»
- The labs but with good TA like Ashraf. Some points should be allocated on labs.»
- Exercise sessions specially Yogesh»
- Labs,Assignments,Exercise»
- not much.»
- atleast the labs and the assignments.»
- home assignment»
- Labs»
- The labs.»
- The exercise classes and laboratories. The exercise tutor.»
- Home assignment»
- home assignments»

17. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- the litreture could be revised in terms of writting languge because the text has not really written in common english that I deal with in other books so maybe a native english speaker can modify this. »
- - The home assignments - The book could be revised.»
- The teaching staff should definitely change thier attitude in next year. They should try to give the lectures in more practical way rather than just showing thier own results and antennas they have worked on.»
- There should be some project(s) on antenna designing (whether hardware or simulation based)»
- Teaching could be more better»
- The lecture patterns, dependency of grade only on final exam. »
- The way the lectures are delivered.»
- Lecturers,Book»
- atleast a project on antenna design(dipole), so that we must know, how a dipole may be designed for a given bandwidth, range, modulation tech, covered area, gain, etc etc.....as the course name is antenna design...but there is nothing like this.... the book must be in final form...with some more figures.....to understand the concepts in depth, as many students have not studied it in bachelors... lectures may be improved, that is can be made interested. »
- the text book for sure should be changed and a book that is more general and taught all over the world shud be chosen»
- book, use balani instead (better for newbies) this book is more intended for actual design. The weird thing is that even if the book is design-oriented (numerical stuff mostly) the labs doesn"t allow for any design. You could let the students try building their own antenna (simulations etc.) and then do measurements.»
- All material should be revised. The book was very poorly described and there was no pattern.»
- Maybe use more tha blackboard and 3D visualization, if possible, of some concepts: some it is difficult to imagine them and seeing patterns or beams could be more pregnant and more useful to memorize.»
- The book!»
- Lectures.»
- The advertisement of Chalmers Antenna department from the regular lectures because these focused on what the professor or what the antenna department has done and we are interested in how it is done»
- The book»

18. Additional comments

- I think the administration should take positive steps to rearrange the course. »
- I strongly felt that the course is not designed properly. Book is not so good, some other book should be recommended.»
- i appreciate the help of lecturer jian yang. Exercise sessions by Yogesh were also good, it is fair to say that, what we know in antennas, is learned from exercise sessions and self study...»
- Otherwise good.»
- Overall course was very fine and interesting but lectures were unable to create interest among the students.Students took the course with their own interest but due to lecture situation, most of the students lose their interest.»
- This course was not that good ad expected not due to its contents but due to the teaching staff. The teaching staff didn"t coordinated with one another due to which lot of things are repeated in many lectures»
