I look at it this way, either the project started too early, before we had acquired any knowledge at all about what it was about, OR, the project could start early, but with more preparatory information. » (The goals give some guidance, but could be clearer)

- Some of the things that seemed important during the course wasn"t a part of the exam at all, and some things that only were mentioned or discussed just a little during lectures and exercises, were a major part of the exam.» (To some extent)

- copied to much from the book and sometimes there were very bad structure for a powerpoint presentation » (Fair)
- Quite a lot of text on his powerpoint slides. Powerpoint didn"t add to the overall lecture, but would have been better used with the same information in less words, so as to get a grip of it quicker.» (Adequate)
- Cleas could have less slides directly from the book and read less from them.» (Adequate)
- Might inprove the power point technique a bit but he gives the impression that he cares about the course he is teqachhing.» (Good)

- The disadvantage of just put in a single lecture about the environment is that the object seems to be "it is important to think about the sustainability" and then the time is running out and nothing new has been stated. The questions during the lectures were really traditional and I didn"t think that they opened up our minds for new-thinking... Maybe this lecture could have been an additional demo-lecture instead, since it was a litte bit too poor of time for them and we already know that the future need engineers with sustainability-thinking.»
- It seems to have more importance for the Master Students than for the Biotechnology Students.»

- Good thought, but can be hard to understand at times.» (Fair)
- Jan need to improve his English and he also need to cover the material faster. He has not finished what he was supposed to do a single time» (Fair)
- Quite slow tutorials. For example it is not necessary to explicitly calculate sums of squares each time, just write the results down when everyone should have a grip of a basic sum of squares.» (Fair)
- It was sometimes hard to understand what the question was and the answers were not very good» (Adequate)
- They helped me learn, but Jan Rodmar could help with some english lessions to improve understandning among students. But the teaching itself was very good!» (Good)

- Jan Rodmars english could improve but other than that he managed to convey the important aspects of the problems. If you listened carefully that is.» (Good)
- J Rodmar has a great knowledge in experimental design, but unfortunately his poor English is a disadvantage for the teaching. It works quite well since he"s almost writing down everything he"s saying, but when it comes to spontaneous questions there have been some problems. » (Good)

- Gave some inisght into experimental time but was to extensive time wise.» (Good)
- It would have been better though, to start later on in the course with the project, because at the beginning no one had a clue what to do. Besides it needs to be more assistans there to help, because everybody needed help in the beginning.» (Good)
- I would like to write excellent, because it was really one of the best things during my whole education at Chalmers. I really enjoy the working method of problem-based learning. I hope you will have the resources to offer more teachers for the project in the future, since it was hard to get quick response to ones questions.» (Good)

22. What do you think about the optimization project?

- It"s great that you don"t know what to do in the beginning and that you learn about it in lectures during the experiments procedure. Smetimes the lectures were a bit "after" the experiment in time. The time for help was to little and another teacher would have helped.»

- Fun project, too little info about what to do... everything I did was either by asking friends or going to Jan Rodmars office. Better tutorials at scheduled time should be held.»
- It is good, but more teachers per studnet would have been better. I know it is supposed to be PBL but you must be able to get some help at least at the studio exercises. A good thing was that you could walk down to Justin o Jan and ask questions whenever the were there.»

- It is good but it should have started later on in the course and more teachers on fewer student. I learned pretty much but only during the other half of the project and the majority of the lesson time was spended on waiting for the teacher.»
- A lot of fun! but the first lesson should be at week 2, when we have a chance to calculate some problems. so that we can understand what we are dealing with»

- More teachers to help students during the optimization classes. Jesutin did the best he could but there were simply too many questions for him to be able to help everyone. The concept of the project is that we"re not supposed to know what it"s all about at first, so naturally there will be a lot of confusion especially the first 2-3 classes.»
