Your own effort

1. How many hours per week did you spend on this course?

We mean total time, that is, it comprises the time you spent in class and the time you spent on your own work. Try to estimate the average time over the entire study period.

Goals and goal fulfilment

The course syllabus states the course goals in terms of learning outcomes, i.e., knowledge, skills and attitudes to be acquired by the student during the course.

3. How understandable are the course goals?

8 svarande

I have not seen/read the goals»0 0%
The goals are difficult to understand»3 37%
The goals give some guidance, but could be clearer»5 62%
The goals clearly describe what I am supposed to learn»0 0%

Genomsnitt: 2.62

- overall take-away message from each lesson and from the whole course is somewhat obscure. Feels as though the learning outcomes are ambiguous and difficult to understand. For example, the course PM states "acquire terminologies and theories around the management of projects..." does it mean merely memorize vocabulary words and theories. Or apply theories to my project... and furthermore what was considered a theory in management?» (The goals are difficult to understand)

4. Are the goals reasonable considering your background and the number of credits?

Answer this this question and the succeeding one, only if you do know the course goals.

8 svarande

No, the goals are set too low»0 0%
Yes, the goals seem reasonable»5 62%
No, the goals are set too high»3 37%

Genomsnitt: 2.37

- Not to be confused with deliverables... the learning goals seem reasonable and interesting but the lessons and activities supporting these goals may have been a bit unclear or trivial.» (Yes, the goals seem reasonable)
- The goals are reasonable, but I feel I spent a lot of time on other things in the course which were not directly contributing to the course. If the course would be more streamlined and more directly connected to the goals I think that the time spent would feel more fruitful. To sum it up: good goals, but more communication about how each task is contributing to them and better time management needed.» (No, the goals are set too high)

5. Did the examination assess whether you have reached the goals?

8 svarande

No, not at all»4 50%
To some extent»4 50%
Yes, definitely»0 0%
I don"t know/have not been examined yet»0 0%

Genomsnitt: 1.5

- Some things in the goals were not included in the curriculum» (To some extent)
- To a very large extent, but some skills were difficult to show through this examination. For example: writing about sales skills is a whole different thing than actually selling. Of course some topics will always be difficult to examine, which is why I think that the type of examination performed assessed whether or not I had reached the goals to a very large extent. » (To some extent)

- Could have been better in general, but we didn"t cooperate around ELDO assignments since these were mostly individual hand-ins.» (Rather well)
- ELDO certainly generated dialogue between the students particularly in regards to deliverables» (Rather well)
- We have often teamed together to fight the man» (Very well)

11. How was the course workload?

8 svarande

Too low»0 0%
Low»0 0%
Adequate»3 37%
High»3 37%
Too high»2 25%

Genomsnitt: 3.87

- As mentioned previously, it often felt like we were doing things which were not directly contributing to us reaching the course goals. Therefore it often felt frustrating with the many different hand-ins we had to do. It felt like they were taking time from other sometimes more important things. I don"t think that we should have to work almost every night and also many weekends which we did during most of the fall semester. We also need time to recover, but I think that many students in our class (including me) felt like we were hitting the wall due to the high workload in many courses (combined with our efforts to try to run the start-up as well).» (High)
- However it was a bit tedious as well. Maybe less work but more challenging would be better.» (High)
- ... in proportion to amount of work, meetings, project and subject in total» (Too high)
- Too intense!» (Too high)

12. How was the total workload this study period?

8 svarande

Poor»3 37%
Fair»1 12%
Adequate»2 25%
Good»2 25%
Excellent»0 0%

Genomsnitt: 2.37

- Good intentions but not as good content delivery» (Fair)
- I like learning about leadership, it is the first subject during the Master"s program that i haven"t studied before» (Good)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Flemings sessions»
- the Value based sales!!!»
- Many external lecturers who brought in good knowledge.»
- Flemming and Max rappi"s lectures were interesting. However, what to extract and use from them are more difficult to see.»
- The sales lectures, but maybe they could be moved to the second semester, as many of the encubator start-ups were at a too early stage. The group development and individual development talks. Maybe the group development talks could be increased in time though. During 30 minutes you hardly scratch the surface of difficult subjects. »
- Sales, Leadership»
- Course structure»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Everything else than Flemings lectures!»
- the advocacy inquiry hand-in. difficult to see how i could improve that..? »
- I liked the idea with a reflection paper in the end of the fall, but I thought it had too much influence on the grade of the course. Also I did not learn anything valuable from the lectures with Flemming, they could have been very much more crisp.»
- The reflection paper felt unnecessary. If it is to be used in a constructive way, or rather reflective way, I would suggest to make the frameworkds more defined... a framework that will enable reflection. Forced reflection in a period when one feels there is no time, becomes a paper written for the teacher without particular learning outcomes»
- Make it more like the OB-course.»
- The full-day lectures are not very rewarding in a class full of impatient entrepreneurs. Chop up Flemmings lectures into smaller packages. Workshops where we read something and prepare some questions, followed by a shorter lecture would probably be better. During these full-day lectures most of us are doing something else on our computers anyway. It"s sad, but more interactive seminars where we can"t use our laptops will probably be better in our class.»
- the consultants from IBT... less than decent in content in my opinion. Meeting protocol... completing an assignment without learning what purpose each component of the protocol serves does not seem to be a very beneficial learning experience.»
- Better instruction for the lab report»
