- The time spent was concentrated to the last couple of weeks due to the extremely late arrival of recommended exersices. If the exercises had arrived early in the course, a lot more knowledge would have benn gained.» (Around 20 hours/week)

- The topic is really wide. So lot of things was done really quickly and so it difficult to understand (especially if the the basic in math are not strong).» (No, the goals are set too high)

- The exam was s lot of calculating and solving integrals. It should be enough to show that one has understood the steps to a solution. The math (= calculating intergrals) we have already done in other courses. If one does not have to do these integrals one could have time to answer more questions about understanding, for example about time discretization, accuracy and so on.» (Well)
- Good level of the questions BUT the where to extensive so I didn"t have time to do them even though I knew how to do them! Meaning lower grades will be received because over extensive questions! bad » (Well)
- The problems themselves were alright but to achive an answere there were many calculations, which took too much time, that had to be solved. The calculations themselves didn"t have anyting to do with the course.» (Not so well)

- the questions were to time comsuming, I did not have enough time, to answer the last, even though I knew how!!!» (Very difficult)
- The contents of the exam were as hard as they needed to be, except that the problems were unacceptably time-consuming.» (Very difficult)
- I"m used to from my university that exam from numeric math is usually only about explaining the approach and show that I understand meaning and theory of these method. Counting is doing only on computer. So I miss theoretical question with some proofs etc and I did not expected so many counting by hand on the exam.» (Difficult)

- The exam was not so difficult, but it was too little time. If one did"t see the symmetry in one problem one had to do a lot of calculating. And the course it not about seeing symmetry in a problem.» (Not so difficult)

- I concentrated on the course literature to learn the concepts of the course.» (Some extent)
- I don"t know why the teacher didn"t give any printed material for the lecture notes. During the class, I was just trying to write instead of understanding the concept. Also there were many times that the teacher wrote sth on the board, and without giving anytime for us to write them, he was describing sth. So we missed many details.» (Large extent)

- It gave an overwiev of what was important and then one could read more about it in the book for deeper understanding. » (Large extent)

- During breaks in lectures, Peter just dissapeared...» (Rather poor)
- The lecturer could stay in the lecture room during breaks more often.» (Rather poor)
- Peter Hansbo ran away very quickly after the lectures and when the breakes started. That made it difficult íf you wanted to ask a question or discuss something.» (Rather good)
- It was very godd during the computer labs. But sometimes one want to ask a question in the break during the lecture, and that was not always possible.» (Rather good)

- It was good to have the possibility to work together and discuss the computer labs and prepatation for the exam. But it was good that one must hand in an own report and do an own code.» (Rather well)

- It was good that the computer labs started week one. That made the workload almost equal every week in the period.» (Adequate)

- there where three parts in the course, with no connection wiht each others,,,1) teaching, only theoretical 2) computer assignment, only coding 3) exam, only calculations which we didn"t get any guidence within» (Poor)
- Too much finite elements. But maybe I think so because I choosed the fluid track...» (Good)
- For me it was really good because I had two courses of numeric math before, so it put my knowledge together and extend it.» (Excellent)

17. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Giving the lecture notes gives more time in the class to the students for understanding rather than copying. I think the Schafer"s book was not a good book.»
- reduce the amount of lessions, they didn"t give any...and replace them with some teaching in how to calculate. "cause thats what teh exam is about!»
- I think that some parts was done so quick and it was quite difficult that there were not too many people who was able to understand. So I think that some parts can be taken out. For example: time-depending problems, solvers for ODE...»
- Räkneövningar på uppgifter ur boken skulle vara nyttigt så det inte bara är datorövningar.»
- -some points might be explained in more details, but as there is no time in lectures, maybe a few of the exercises may be used for further explanation of lectures, for those who need it.»

- there should be more questions to practice on, the questions in schäfner was not so good»
- Time distribution of labs, I think it would be very helpful to take a couple of hours a week to solve exercises by hand with some assistance.»

- the exam wasn"t to surprising,,it looked mostly as the example exam, but it was a bit too large. I would approx. need 2 more houres to finish it up...»
