- Gives good insight and increses the "feeling" for how structures behave in reality.» (Good)
- The course where good with the exeption of Abaqus. The task were to large and the program do not work adequate.» (Good)
- En helt fantastisk kurs. Oerhört intressant kurs med bra organisation och upplägg.» (Excellent)
- The only problem was the FE project which was very confusing and time consuming. The time was spent on trying to understand Abaqus and not the results.» (Excellent)

21. What is the remaining value of the course in the future

- Känns som att om man skall jobba med betongkonstruktioner är denna kurs oumbärlig för att till fullo förstår konstruktionens beteende.» (Very high)

22. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- the lectures and exercises»
- Examples during the lectures.»
- The "Dugga" is very good as it is. It"s good to know the theory before studying for the exam. Lectures works very well too, especially doing problems»
- I princip allt.
- DUGGA»
- The Björn part of the course is good and the examples are good, the FEM project sould be preserved but improved.»
- The lectures and the material that was handed out were excellent. The dugga was also a very good way of learning the theoretical part of the course.»
- Bjorn Engstrom»

23. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- the FEM project, the task must be solvable and at least the supervisors should know how to handle the FE-program. »
- FEM-project.»
- The way that the FEM-project is done. It was too much work in comparison to what was gained in knowledge. »
- More preparation from the teachers on the FEM part. I would have been good if the teachers had done the modelling and analysis by themself, so they know how to solve them (or if it could be solved). »
- FEM Project, however it is a good idea.»
- The FEM project should be improved. Marions lectures were ambitious which is good but we haven’,t been thought many basic concepts in FEM modeling because all FEM project in the program have had problems so many of Marios lessons were to advanced to give better understanding.»
- The project work can be more clear and maybe be reorganized in some way.»
- Change Abaqus»
- The FE project would have been very interesting if the results were obtained. A better guidance for how to use Abaqus for non linear analysis of concrete is necessary. »
- The primary syllabus for the FEM part of the course was set too heavy and demanded a lot of workload (BTW, it changed as the course progressed and some parts were dismissed). So, I suggest that the FEM part to be modified to comply with the available timeframe.»
- A better preparation of the FEM-projects. I found that sometimes the teachers had problem giving adequate instructions and help during the project work.»

24. Additional comments

- As mentioned above the FEM projects have not been good in this program. In period 2 we have a FEM Basics course which is a good introduction to the theory and a necessary part of the education I feel. Then we go straight to advanced modeling in Abacus in the Timber course and following courses. In my opinion there is a big piece missing in the FEM education as the gap between the FEM Basics course and the projects is too big. My suggestion is to introduce the students to FEM modeling with Abacus (or other) in the FEM applications course instead of making them do more Mathlab programming, in this way they are better equipped to perform the FEM projects and will get a lot more out of the projects themselves when they are using a tool (Abacus) that they are familiar with and can manipulate to achieve the best result from there projects.»
- Very high workload, the "heaviest" corse I"ve taken. I was lucky to just take one course this period, otherwise I don´,t know how I would have made it...»
- thanks to all the teachers for the educative and interesting course.»
- The only problem I felt was the gap when Mario came for FE lectures. And then afetr a week again Bjorn came fro lectures. Otherwise there wasnt anything difficukt there.»
