Yes, definitely»5 15%
I don"t know/have not been examined yet»6 18%

Genomsnitt: 2.4

- The exam was way to big and wide. With 9 questions, almost all with a,b,c with three question marks per a,b, c question, it makes for an exam with almost 81 questions! How are we supposed to be able to elaborate on almost 81 questions in 4 hours? It is okay with many questions if you are only looking for deffinitons. But if you want us to be able to have time to elaborate on each question, you shouldn"t have had so many. Also, the type of teaching and the hand outs did not corrspond to the questions during the exam. » (No, not at all)
- I have studied hard and would say that I know the course well enough to pass, but with that exam I"m not sure. The exam did not at all check whether I had understood the corse or not. There were detailed questions that were to detatiled and the questions checking my understanding needed time to think about but there weren"t any!» (No, not at all)
- It was a strange and totally unexpected exam, the format changed a lot from the previous one. » (To some extent)
- Since the goals was difficult to define, it wasn"t clear what need to be prepared for an exam» (To some extent)
- I think that the level on the lectures was very low. The teachers were not prepared for the calculating exercises. This lead to a slow tempo and a lot of "stupid" questions. The questions were often also due to language problems and to communication problems. This made the seminars boring. The exam was later much more difficult. It would have been better if the tempo on the seminars and lectures were higher and more difficult to represent the exam better. The seminar with cases were more difficult and better. However a bit more unstructured sometimes. » (To some extent)
- The exam was very much harder than the "typical exam" we got. The type of questions were not at all the same.» (To some extent)

- I would say between "some" and "large"» (Some extent)
- As I wrote before. It was so slow sometimes. Especially if you"re used to studying something technichally more advanced. I think that we could have learned so much more if the tempo was higher and the teachers more prepared. More time could have been placed on cases, or the examples from the industry to better represent the content on the exam. The level on the exam was much higher then the average level of the lectures. This made the lectures boring and it was very easy to loose interest.» (Some extent)

7. To what extent has the quantitative problem seminars been of help or your learning?

Small extent»3 8%

Large extent»14 40%

Genomsnitt: 2.71

- Some of the cases was difficult to understand like what they are asking for» (Some extent)
- Seems to have been big diffrences between what was learned at the seminars depending on which group you attended. You need to be better prepared for the discussions and teach every group the most important things.» (Some extent)
- I learned a lot from them and I think that they are very important.» (Large extent)
- I think the seminars are really good for learning, but the cases could be explained in a clearer way so everybody understands from the beginning and can bring even better answers.» (Great extent)

12. How did you perceive the mix between lectures, guest lectures, assignments, seminars, own literature studies, etc.?

- ok. The lectures could however been a little less. »
- I think it is well-organized, but maybe I am not familiar with this course, I still have some difficulties when I listen to the lecture.»
- I think more seminar is needed, with open question and open discussion about different subject/chapter form the course book. Maybe also it would be good to give some assignments in group of two or three students, but rather a few short, not one long for 4-5 weeks...»
- Perfect. (only thing is that it could have been good with more exercise sessions in smaller groups)»
- ok»
- Good»

- I think it would be a bigger help of the guest lectures if they would be held before »
- I think we should do more problem seminars »
- it was really good»
- Relevant and adequate.»
- good. »
- Pretty good.»
- ok»
- Always good to have a mix!»
- heavy»
- The mix itself can be considered as good. The scheduling of single types of lectures (e.g. Lawson laboratory, guest lectures) should have been (if possible) more according to the respective subjects it was dealing about. By doing so an easier connection to the theoretical lectures would be given.»

- maybe it was not very understandable for me because I have never taken such course before-connected with manufacturing process.» (Adequate)
- Too difficult» (Adequate)
- It would be a good idea to ask during the exam what is taught in class. » (Adequate)
- The corse wasn"t fairly interesting to me, but the worst part was that the exam didn"t reflect the course in away that was acceptable. Have less questions or give more time. You can"t expect us students to know details from 400 pages!» (Adequate)
- I think that the content was good, however the lectures could have been way more interesting with real examples, real problems and with a higher tempo. More focus on the difficult parts instead of going through simple calculations that aren"t correctly written in the slides. » (Good)
- This is an excellent course and techer is very kind to answer students" questions. it is really wonderful time to take the course. : )» (Excellent)

18. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Case study.»
- the seminars and the guest lectures. »
- The seminars.»
- The course book is not very good at describing. It is written a lot about each "thing" but it is very hard to understand what sentences that are important.»
- Case seminar»
- The mix of cases and lectures! Very good. »
- everything was useful and necessary.»
- All parts.»
- Mistakes in problems!»
- The literature is important»
- The seminars and the problem sessions»
- all the seminar and quantitative exercises»
- seminars. Both the ones with cases and calculations»
- Seminars with calculations.»
- everything»
- The possibility of an additional questions session beyond the lectures offered by Stig-Arne.»

19. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- There should be an assignment which would be graded between 10 and 30 points in order not to have all the grade only for the exam.»
- the 4 hours sequence of lectures»
- as I said before, maybe more seminar with open discussion and some small assignments»
- lectures of 4 hours »
- The schedule is a bit too tight.»
- If you want us to elaborate closely on different questions during the exam, you should not focus so on details in class but rather go for understanding!»
- The quantitive seminar should be more efficient.»
- Reduce the workload!»
- It could be better to distribute some parts of scores to assignments, like 20 point.»
- The schedule. Hang more old exams could also be a good idea.»
- how well the professors are prepared before seminars, (mostly with calculations) and lectures to avoid stupid misunderstandings. »
- The exam»
- The exam! You can"t exam the whole course in 4 hours!!! You need to limit the exam, less questions please!»
- better and clearer powerpoints for the lectures would be great»
- The guest lectures should be definitely prevented to next year, however, it would be preferable to not place all three of them the same day, since the attentiveness tends to diminish after a while.»

20. Additional comments

- I like the explanation of Patrik, but I think the explanation of Stig can be clearer.»
- lecture and seminar were always OK »
- the book and the lectures gives a very straightforward and general image of the course, while the exam is much more on University level. I think it is easy to underestimate the exam.»
- please... Do not ask us to learn by heart a 400pages book!!!!»
- The workload...I"m so tired...hehe..»
- It was a very good class but I don"t think the exam represented how much everyone actually learned about more useful things on the course.»
- I spent to much time to read the book 2 times, but the questions in the exam were so difficult and confusing, and so time cosuming as well .I think for getting a good score we need more time for this book not 6 weeks!»
- The impression of the course is not that good. It took too much of a time and the workload was too high, so it wasn"t very much time for the other subject. For that rather complicated subject it was too many mistakes and adjustments in the in assigments.»
- is it possible to mark exams on percentile base and not on points base?»
- The Lawson laboratory would have been more interesting, if there had been the possibility to not only run optimisations, but also try to find out how it works to set the different parameters.»
